Broadway's 'Company' Revival Debuts First Look Photos!

A brand new production of the classic Stephen Sondheim and George Furth musical Company is coming to Broadway next week and here’s your first look at the cast in costume!

The new take on the musical features gender-swapped casting with Tony winner Katrina Lenk taking on the role of Bobbie, originally Bobby in previous productions. Patti LuPone is playing Joanne and will sing the iconic song “The Ladies Who Lunch.”

Here’s a brief synopsis for the show: At Bobbie’s 35th birthday party, all her friends are wondering why isn’t she married? Why can’t she find the right man? And, why can’t she settle down and have a family?

Also starring in the show are Matt Doyle as Jamie, Christopher Fitzgerald as David, Christopher Sieber as Harry, Jennifer Simard as Sarah, Terence Archie as Larry, Etai Benson as Paul, Nikki Renee Daniels as Jenny, Claybourne Elder as Andy, Greg Hildreth as Peter, Kyle Dean Massey as Theo, Rashidra Scott as Susan, and Bobby Conte Thornton as P.J.

Company, directed by two-time Tony winner Marianne Elliott, begins preview performances on March 2 ahead of an official opening night on March 22, which happens to be Sondheim‘s 90th birthday!

Broadway's 'Company' Revival Sets Star-Studded Cast to Join Katrina Lenk & Patti LuPone!

The Stephen Sondheim musical Company is returning to Broadway next year for a gender-bent revival and the full cast has been announced!

Tony winner Katrina Lenk will be playing Bobbie, a character that was previously referred to as Bobby and played by a man in past productions. Patti LuPone will be making a highly anticipated return to the New York stage as Joanne.

Joining the cast (and pictured below from left to right) are Matt Doyle as Jamie, Christopher Fitzgerald as David, Christopher Sieber as Harry, Jennifer Simard as Sarah, Terence Archie as Larry, Etai Benson as Paul, Nikki Renee Daniels as Jenny, Claybourne Elder as Andy, Greg Hildreth as Peter, Kyle Dean Massey as Theo, and Bobby Conte Thornton as P.J.

Director Marianne Elliott collaborated with Sondheim to update the musical and bring the story into the 21st century. In Company, musical theatre’s most iconic bachelor becomes a bachelorette. Sara Bareilles & Jessie Mueller Rep 'Waitress' at Tony Awards 2016 with Keri Russell!

Sara Bareilles looks lovely while walking the red carpet at the 2016 Tony Awards held at the Beacon Theatre on Sunday (June 12) in New York City.

The 36-year-old singer was joined at the event by Jessie Mueller, the star of her Broadway musical Waitress, and Keri Russell, who starred in the film version.

Also in attendance was the show’s other star Christopher Fitzgerald with his wife Jessica Stone.

Sara is nominated tonight for Best Original Score for writing the music and lyrics while Jessie and Christopher are both nominated for their acting work. Keri will be presenting during the show.

Carole King, who Jessie played in the Broadway musical Beautiful and who Sara sang with at a recent Tony Awards, also hit the red carpet!

FYI: Sara is wearing a Gomez-Gracia gown. Keri is wearing a Monique Lhuillier dress, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, an Emm Kuo bag, and Jacob & Co. jewelry. Christopher is wearing a Doyle & Mueser bespoke suit. Jessica is wearing a Self-Portrait dress.

Cynthia Erivo & Jane Krakowski Win Big at Drama Desk Awards 2016!

Cynthia Erivo and Jane Krakowski win big at the 2016 Drama Desk Awards held at Anita’s Way on Sunday (June 5) in New York City.

Cynthia, who stars in The Color Purple revival, won for Outstanding Actress in a Musical, while Jane, who stars in She Loves Me, won for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical.

Also winning big that evening were Fiddler on the Roof‘s Danny Burstein and WaitressChristopher Fitzgerald for their roles in their respective musicals.

Other musical theater actors in attendance included She Loves Me cast members Laura Benanti, Zachary Levi, and Nicholas Barasch, Waitress composer and lyricist Sara Bareilles and star of the show Jessie Mueller, Bright Star‘s Carmen Cusack and AJ Shivley, The Color Purple‘s Danielle Brooks, and Broadway stars Khris Davis, Montego Glover and Laura Osnes.
