Jennifer Hudson Drops 'Here I Am' Song, Written with Carole King for 'Respect' Movie!

Jennifer Hudson has released her new song “Here I Am (Singing My Way Home)” for the upcoming Aretha Franklin biopic Respect!

The Oscar- and Grammy-winning entertainer co-wrote the song with Carole King, who famously wrote the song “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman” for Aretha. The song was also co-written by Jamie Hartman and produced by will.i.am.

“Here I Am” will appear on the soundtrack for the upcoming movie and it serves as the film’s only original song. It already seems like a shoo-in for a Best Original Song nomination at the 2022 Oscars!

The movie hits theaters nationwide on August 13 and the soundtrack will be available the same day.

Taylor Swift Dedicates Special AMA Win to Carole King & Her Parents - Watch the Speech! (Video)

Taylor Swift accepts her Artist of the Decade Award from the legendary Carole King at the 2019 American Music Awards on Sunday (November 24) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

The 29-year-old singer dedicated the special prize to Carole, who she said had a big influence on the lives of her parents and her family.

Taylor thanked Carole for showing that her songs “could transcend so many different changes in people’s lives.”

“All any of the artists in this room want is to create something that will last,” she said. “And all that matters to me is the memories that I have had with you, the fans, over the years, because we’ve had fun, incredible exhilarating times together. Thank you for being the reason I am on this stage.”

Many fans were expecting Taylor to address her feud with Scooter Braun and Scott Borchetta during the speech, but she only addressed it with a subtle moment during her performance.

Adam Lambert, Queen, Alicia Keys & More to Headline Global Citizen Festival 2019

Adam Lambert, Queen and Alicia Keys are going to be putting on a show!

The superstars are among the acts who will be hitting the stage for the 2019 Global Citizen Music Festival on the Great Lawn in Central Park in New York City on Saturday, September 28, organizers revealed on Tuesday (July 30).

The lineup also includes Hugh Jackman and wife Deborra-Lee Furness as hosts of the annual event, which calls on world leaders to mobilize on issues in the global movement to fight extreme poverty.

Taraji P. Henson, Rami Malek, Bill Nye, Matt Bomer, Rachel Brosnahan, Elvis Duran, Joy Reid and Forest Whitaker will co-host the event.

Pharrell Williams, OneRepublic, H.E.R. and Carole King will also headline the festival, as well as performances by French Montana, Ben Platt, and Jon Batiste and his band Stay Human.

The event is free, but attendees must download the Global Citizen app for a chance to win tickets.

'Beautiful - The Carole King Musical' to End Broadway Run After Almost 6 Years

Beautiful – The Carole King Musical is coming to an end.

The record-breaking hit musical will end after nearly six years on Broadway, producers Paul Blake and Mike Bosner confirmed on Wednesday (July 17).

By the time it closes, the musical will have been staged for 60 previews and 2,418 regular performances, becoming the 27th longest-running musical in Broadway history.

Beautiful opened on Broadway on January 13, 2014, and went on to become a Tony, Olivier and Grammy Award-winning success. The show stars Jessie Mueller and Jake Epstein as Carole King and Gerry Goffin. It’s also the longest-running and highest-grossing show in the history of the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.

The final performance will be on October 27, 2019.

Carole King Visits Sara Bareilles & Gavin Creel at 'Waitress' Peformance!

The cast of Waitress, the Broadway musical, got a special visit over the weekend!

Carole King made way her way backstage at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre to surprise Sara Bareilles and her co-star Gavin Creel after their Waitress performance on Sunday (January 13) in New York City.

Also in attendance to show their support for the cast and crew was singer Lucie Jones, who competed in series 6 of The X Factor UK in 2009, where she finished eighth.

Carole was in town to celebrate 5 years of her hit Broadway show, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.

Melissa Benoist Gets a Visit from Carole King at 'Beautiful'

The 29-year-old Supergirl actress is playing Carole in the Broadway musical through August 4.

“I’ve been in Idaho hanging out and I kept hearing how great Melissa was and I said, ‘I better come and see her.’ Amazing, just amazing,” Carole said on stage after the performance.

Carole also told the crowd how she was amazed that Melissa‘s foot tapping during the song “It’s Too Late” mimicked her own foot tapping.
