Broadway's 'Company' Revival Debuts First Look Photos!

A brand new production of the classic Stephen Sondheim and George Furth musical Company is coming to Broadway next week and here’s your first look at the cast in costume!

The new take on the musical features gender-swapped casting with Tony winner Katrina Lenk taking on the role of Bobbie, originally Bobby in previous productions. Patti LuPone is playing Joanne and will sing the iconic song “The Ladies Who Lunch.”

Here’s a brief synopsis for the show: At Bobbie’s 35th birthday party, all her friends are wondering why isn’t she married? Why can’t she find the right man? And, why can’t she settle down and have a family?

Also starring in the show are Matt Doyle as Jamie, Christopher Fitzgerald as David, Christopher Sieber as Harry, Jennifer Simard as Sarah, Terence Archie as Larry, Etai Benson as Paul, Nikki Renee Daniels as Jenny, Claybourne Elder as Andy, Greg Hildreth as Peter, Kyle Dean Massey as Theo, Rashidra Scott as Susan, and Bobby Conte Thornton as P.J.

Company, directed by two-time Tony winner Marianne Elliott, begins preview performances on March 2 ahead of an official opening night on March 22, which happens to be Sondheim‘s 90th birthday!

Broadway Stars Strip Down to Their Underwear for Skivvies Concert!

Claybourne Elder and Andrew Keenan-Bolger show off their muscular bodies while performing in their underwear for The Skivvies‘ latest concert on Thursday (January 30) at Joe’s Pub in New York City.

The Skivvies are singer/actor/musicians Lauren Molina and Nick Cearley, who perform stripped down arrangements of eclectic covers and eccentric originals while also stripped down themselves.

Claybourne, who will soon be seen in the revival of Company, performed a “99 Problems” medley while playing the violin and Andrew, one of the original stars of Newsies, did a medley of “Boys” songs.

Other performs who are pictured include Jagged Little Pill‘s Logan Hart, Diana‘s Roe Hartrampf, Les MiserablesBrennyn Lark, Anastasia‘s Max Von Essen, Head Over HeelsBonnie Milligan, and performer Natalie Walker.

Broadway's New 'Company' Stars Gather to Celebrate Casting News!

The Broadway revival of the musical Company is one of the most anticipated shows of the season and the newly announced stars gathered to celebrate the casting announcement!

Matt Doyle (Jamie), Etai Benson (Paul), Claybourne Elder (Andy), and Bobby Conte Thornton (P.J.) stepped up to the bar at the iconic Broadway watering hole, Joe Allen, on Monday night (October 21) in New York City.

The four actors will join a cast that also includes Tony winners Katrina Lenk and Patti LuPone.

Meet the full cast of the musical, which will hit Broadway in March 2020.

Broadway's 'Company' Revival Sets Star-Studded Cast to Join Katrina Lenk & Patti LuPone!

The Stephen Sondheim musical Company is returning to Broadway next year for a gender-bent revival and the full cast has been announced!

Tony winner Katrina Lenk will be playing Bobbie, a character that was previously referred to as Bobby and played by a man in past productions. Patti LuPone will be making a highly anticipated return to the New York stage as Joanne.

Joining the cast (and pictured below from left to right) are Matt Doyle as Jamie, Christopher Fitzgerald as David, Christopher Sieber as Harry, Jennifer Simard as Sarah, Terence Archie as Larry, Etai Benson as Paul, Nikki Renee Daniels as Jenny, Claybourne Elder as Andy, Greg Hildreth as Peter, Kyle Dean Massey as Theo, and Bobby Conte Thornton as P.J.

Director Marianne Elliott collaborated with Sondheim to update the musical and bring the story into the 21st century. In Company, musical theatre’s most iconic bachelor becomes a bachelorette. Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Jonathan Groff, & More Sing Sondheim Tunes for One Special Night!

The Los Angeles Philharmonic provided the music while Jesse, Jonathan Groff, Vanessa Williams, and more performers sang some of composer Stephen Sondheim‘s most famous tunes.

The highlights of the night were Jesse singing “Franklin Shepard Inc.” from Merrily We Roll Along, Jonathan belting out “Being Alive” from Company, and Vanessa doing a mash-up of Follies‘ “Losing My Mind” and Merrily‘s “Not a Day Goes By” with Solea Pfeiffer.

The other performers included Sarah Uriarte Berry, Phillip Boynkin, Lewis Cleale, Carmen Cusack, Claybourne Elder, and Ruthie Ann Miles.

Jake Gyllenhaal Suits Up for Opening Night on Broadway with Annaleigh Ashford!

Jake Gyllenhaal hits the red carpet at the opening night after party for his Broadway revival of Sunday in the Park with George on Thursday night (February 23) in New York City.

The 36-year-old actor, who is getting great reviews for his return to the Great White Way, was joined by co-stars Annaleigh Ashford, Ruthie Ann Miles, Erin Davie, Ashley Park, Claybourne Elder, Jenni Barber, and more.

Jake received the support of his sister Maggie at the opening night that evening!
