The Weeknd's Super Bowl 2021 Halftime Show Video - Watch Here!

The Weeknd just rocked the stage during the 2021 Super Bowl Halftime Show and you can watch the full performance video right here!

The 30-year-old singer gave us a huge spectacle with his performance on Sunday (February 7) at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla.

The Weeknd performed from several stages and he had a huge choir kick off the show with him while singing “Starboy.” He then segued into his hit song “The Hills.”

While singing “Can’t Feel My Face,” The Weeknd was seen walking through a hall-way of mirrors with dancers in bandages, just like he used to wear for some of his previous performances.

The Weeknd then went back on his incredible stage to perform “I Feel It Coming,” “Save Your Tears,” and “Earned It.”

The action then took to the field, where tons of dancers wearing the same red suit jacket, black pants, and face bandages were performing a march. The Weeknd then showed up on the field to perform his song “Blinding Lights.”

Why Is The Weeknd Wearing Bandages on His Face? Did He Get Plastic Surgery? He Explains!

The Weeknd has been known for his heavily bandaged face during performances in the past few months, and now, he’s explaining the significance of the bandages.

For those who haven’t followed The Weeknd’s bandages, here’s a recap:

The Weeknd seemed to be playing a character on a journey in his album, After Hours. In his latest music video for “Save Your Tears,” he finally took off his fake bandages just a few weeks ago and revealed this heavily bandaged persona had undergone plastic surgery.

He finally explained why his album, After Hours, had featured so much of this bandaged person in a new interview.

The Weeknd shared with Variety, “The significance of the entire head bandages is reflecting on the absurd culture of Hollywood celebrity and people manipulating themselves for superficial reasons to please and be validated.”

When asked why he had been promoting his biggest album to date with a persona in heavy bandages, he responded, “I suppose you could take that being attractive isn’t important to me but a compelling narrative is.”

Will The Weeknd's Super Bowl Halftime Show Be Pre-Recorded Or Live?

Some past Super Bowl halftime shows have had to have moments pre-recorded to create some amazing moments. Now, with the COVID-19 pandemic, fans were wondering if any aspects would be taped before hand for safety measures. We’re learning that The Weeknd‘s performance will be totally live!

“It’s all happening in that stadium, in that moment,” Jesse Collins, co-producer of the halftime show this year, told ET. “We’re not bouncing off to another stadium and then cutting in like some people have had to do [before]. We are fortunate enough in this situation that we are able to do a live live show.”

“It’s gotta be about entertainment from a truthful perspective,” he added. “Get away from the massive sets, all the hoopla, the flying this and that. And get to the core of what makes an artist special.”

This year, the big game will take place at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium.

“I think there’s a lot of stuff happening in the show that people aren’t going to expect,” he added. “It’s just going to be fun. It’s so perfect.”

“We started creating this thing back in September, and the message of it really worked out,” he continued. “The world worked out for the message that The Weeknd wants to communicate in this performance.”

As for cameos, he said, “Maybe there will be cameos, but we can’t say what he’s doing. It’s definitely a very special show. But you’ll just have to watch and see what happens.”

The Weeknd Explains Why He Spells His Name Without the Last 'E'

The Weeknd has a very unique way of spelling his name and there are probably many people misspelling his stage name as The Weekend right now!

The 30-year-old singer has a good explanation of why he had to drop that last “e” from his name.

The Weeknd opened up to fans during a Reddit AMA back in 2013 and explained how he choose his stage name, as well as why he spells it that way.

“I left home when I was about 17 dropped out of high school and convinced Lamar to do the same lol. We grabbed our mattresses from our parents threw it in our friends shitty van and left one weekend and never came back home. It was gonna be the title of HOB. I hated my name at the time though so I tried it as a stage name. It sounded cool,” The Weeknd said about how he chose his name.

He added, “I took out the ‘e’ because there was already a canadian band named the weekend (copyright issues).”
