President Biden Falls Three Times on the Steps Up to Air Force One

President Joe Biden is okay after a few falls.

The 78-year-old President of the United States fell multiple times while climbing the stairs to board Air Force One for a trip to Atlanta, Ga. on Friday (March 19).

In his final fall, he fell down to his hands and knees before recovering and quickly making his way back up to the stop of the stairs and turning around to salute.

According to reports, Biden is on his way to meet with Asian-American community leaders after eight people, including six Asian women, were killed in a shooting at Atlanta-area salons on Tuesday (March 16).

White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield said the President was not injured in the fall and was prepared to continue with his trip.

Andrew Cuomo Will Not Give in to 'Cancel Culture' Amid Calls to Resign for Misconduct Allegations

Andrew Cuomo is not resigning.

The Governor of New York reaffirmed that he will not be stepping down on Friday (March 12) as a majority of House Democrats called for his resignation amid allegations of misconduct, as well as for his handling of the pandemic.

“People know the difference between playing politics and bowing to cancel culture. There are now two reviews underway. No one wants them to happen more quickly and more thoroughly than I do. Let them do it. I am not going to argue this issue in the press. That’s not the way it should be done. Serious allegations should be weighed seriously,” he said in a press briefing.

“There are facts and then there are opinions and I have always separated the two. I do briefings. I put out the facts then I offer my opinions but they are two different things.”

He denied the allegations, saying he never harassed, grabbed or assaulted anyone, and that he “never would.” He admitted he may have unintentionally taken awkward photographs with women. Anna Ruch claimed he grabbed her face and kissed her at a wedding reception in September of 2019, with a picture as proof.

“Now, is it possible that I have taken a picture with a person who after the fact says that they were uncomfortable with the pose in the picture? Yes. And that’s what you’re hearing about. I have taken thousands of pictures. I never meant to make anyone feel uncomfortable or awkward.”

“There are times I go to take a picture with a person and I can see they’re stand-offish, and I don’t. I apologize for people I have taken pictures with and who after the fact said they were uncomfortable with that picture,” he said.

House Democrats Call on Governor Andrew Cuomo to Resign Amid Allegations

Andrew Cuomo is being asked to resign.

Congressional Democrats from New York, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler, are calling for the governor of New York to resign amid growing accusations of sexual harassment and misconduct, as well as his handling of the pandemic.

Cuomo has already said he will not resign, and is urging people to wait until the conclusion of an investigation by New York Attorney General Letitia James.

“The repeated accusations against the Governor, and the manner in which he has responded to them, have made it impossible for him to continue to govern at this point,” Nadler said on Twitter.

Governor Cuomo has lost the confidence of the people of New York. Governor Cuomo must resign.”

12 of the 19 House Democrats from New York have called for Cuomo to quit thus far.

“As members of the New York delegation to the U.S. House of Representatives, we believe these women, we believe the reporting, we believe the Attorney General, and we believe the fifty-five members of the New York State legislature, including the State Senate Majority Leader, who have concluded that Governor Cuomo can no longer effectively lead in the face of so many challenges,” Reps. Ocasio-Cortez and Jamaal Bowman said in a joint statement.

His brother Chris Cuomo recently spoke about the allegations.

President Joe Biden Addresses Asian-American Hate Crimes, COVID Vaccines & More In Coronavirus Memorial Speech

President Joe Biden marked the one year of coronavirus with an inclusive speech on Thursday (March 11).

The 78-year-old Commander in Chief addressed a handful of issues, including Asian-American hate crimes and the vaccine roll out, all while honoring the 500,000+ lives that were lost.

“No more searching day and night for an appointment for you and your loved ones,” he mentioned about the roll out, adding that all adults, no matter what age, will be able to get the vaccine by May.

He continued, “If we do our part, if we do this together, by July the fourth, there is a good chance that you, your family and friends will be able to get together in your backyard or your neighborhood and have a cookout or a BBQ and celebrate Independence Day. After this long hard year, that will make this Independence Day something truly special, where we not only mark our independence as a nation, but we begin to mark our independence from this virus.”

Biden also denounced rising “vicious hate attacks” on Asian-Americans: “So many of them are fellow Americans, are on the frontlines of this pandemic trying to save lives – and still are forced to live in fear for their lives just walking down streets in America. It’s wrong. It’s un-American. And it must stop.”

Biden Says U.S. Will Have Enough Coronavirus Vaccine Supply for Every Adult by End of May

President Joe Biden is sharing some optimistic news.

The President of the United States announced on Tuesday (March 2) that the vaccine timeline has shortened, and there will be enough for every American adult by May.

“About three weeks ago, we were able to say that we’ll have enough vaccine supply for adults by the end of July, and I’m pleased to announce today, as a consequence of this stepped-up process that I’ve ordered and just outlined, this country will have enough vaccine supply…for every adult in America by the end of May,” he said.

The news comes as Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine received FDA approval, becoming the third vaccine to be used in the U.S.

The president also said he wants teachers and school workers to receive at least one vaccine shot “by the end of March.”

“Now I want to be very clear. Not every educator will be able to get their appointment in the first week. But our goal is to do everything we can to help every educator receive a shot this month, the month of March,” he said.

“This fight is far from over. I told you, I would be straight up with you from the very beginning. As I said many times, things may get worse again as new variants spread and as we face setbacks,” he said.

“Though we celebrate the news of a third vaccine, I urge all Americans, please, keep washing your hands. Stay socially distanced. Wear masks. Keep wearing them. Get vaccinated when it’s your turn. Now is not the time to let up. I’ve asked the country to wear masks for my first 100 days in office. Now is not the time to let our guard down.”

One celebrity who helped to fund the vaccine just got their own first dose.

House Passes Equality Act for LGBTQ Protections

The Equality Act just passed in the House of Representatives, and it’s a major trending topic on Twitter.

The House passed sweeping legislation prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sex, sexual orientation and gender identity on Thursday (February 25), moving forward on a 224-206 vote, mostly down party lines, USA Today reported.

Three Republicans voted with all Democrats.

The bill is one of President Joe Biden‘s top legislative priorities that he wants passed in his first 100 days in office.

“The legislation amends civil rights laws including the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1964, which had banned discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion and national origin, to include protections on the basis of sex, sexual orientation and gender identity. It also would prohibit such discrimination in public places, on transportation and in government-funded programs,” USA Today reports.

Rep. David Cicilline, who introduced the House measure, said “every American deserves respect and dignity,” and the act would “ensure that LGBTQ Americans can live lives free of discrimination.”

A similar version of the bill passed in 2019, but did not make it through Senate. It is not clear yet if this bill will pass through the 50-50 split Senate.

Some conservatives and Republicans are concerned that the legislation could infringe upon religious liberty or lead to inequality in athletic competitions if transgender women compete against cisgender women.

Cicilline responded to the religious objections by saying “religious organizations would still enjoy the rights they have” under existing law.

Sen. Chuck Schumer said he would use his power as majority leader to put the bill on the floor, but did not specify when it would be brought into consideration in the Senate.
