Some fans noticed a dog that looked very similar to one of Jennifer Aniston‘s dogs in John Mayer‘s latest social media post, sparking some rumors!
The dog John was seen with looked an awful lot like Lord Chesterfield, the latest addition to Jennifer‘s pack. Jennifer is also a dog mom to Clyde and Sophie. To add to the rumor mill, Jennifer actually posted several photos of her dogs over the weekend (which you can see in the gallery below.)
Fan accounts and celeb gossip accounts, like @DeuxMoi, posted a few questions about if they were the same dog.
However, fans are now disputing this and clarifying that the dog in John‘s video is not Jennifer‘s dog.
The country superstar rocked a red dress with high leg-slit for her performance of the 2019 hit “The Bones”. She shared a couple smiles with John, who sang backup vocals and even performed one of his signature guitar solos.
Maren told People she was very excited to be performing with the “New Light” singer for the show.
“I’m performing ‘The Bones’ with my friend playing guitar, John Mayer, so it’s gonna be a really beautiful performance,” she said. “He adds so much to it, obviously — he’s John. I’m so [grateful] to him that he is sitting in with us tonight.”
“He’s just smart as a whip. He is also really, really thoughtful and he internalizes every other word he says,” she continued. “I feel like it’s kind of adorable. He’s been just so respectful and complementary to my music over the years.”
“The Bones” was nominated for Best Country Song this year, but lost to The Highwomen‘s song “Crowded Table.”
Several of the performers are making their Grammys stage debut, including Harry, Megan and Bad Bunny.
“Artists will be coming together, while still safely apart, to play music for each other as a community and celebrate the music that unites us all,” the announcement reads, adding that the audience will be limited to performers, nominees and a small number of their guests. Here’s more about how the show will work amid the pandemic.
“Can someone tell me how to flip the camera?” John asks before finally managing to figure out how to use TikTok in his first post. In the comments section, fans lashed out against the star.
“You’re not safe here John,” one wrote.
If you didn’t know, the pair were rumored to have dated around 2009 to 2010 (although it was never officially confirmed), and their relationship is allegedly the subject of her scathing Speak Now song “Dear John,” with many fans quoting the lyrics at him.
He then uploaded footage of himself in an imaginary conversation as he nodded his head and tried to squeeze a word in while pretending to take in criticism.
“POV: You’re berating me and I’m hearing you out,” he captioned the post.
“hello mr old man victim complex,” a top comment reads.
“The girl in the dress cried the whole way home John. Think about that,” another wrote, referencing the song.
John Mayer is opening up about appreciating the music created by some of his famous exes and wondering if any of their songs are written about him!
The 43-year-old musician was a recent guest on Andy Cohen‘s Sirius XM show Radio Andy and the pair discussed what it’s like to date other singers and listen to their music.
When Andy asked if he ever watched any of his ex-girlfriend’s performances, John replied, “I don’t believe that there’s anyone on the boogeyman list anymore. Because you know, when you have a recent ex, we got bogeyman vibes for everyone. I don’t believe I have any boogie people in my life at the moment.”
He added, “I don’t know that I’d watch a whole program. If someone were, if somebody were performing, I would definitely watch the performance. And, I enjoy, I enjoy watching it. Sometimes, I like, I’m a fan. Like I can watch and go like, nailed it.”
John also shared that he wonders if the music is about him.
“Sometimes I hope it’s about me,” he said. “Sometimes it’s a really good song. And I go and I listen sometimes. Yeah. I mean, I’ll, it’s not a, I don’t think it’s a dirty admission. I, sometimes a song is so good I go, ‘Man, I hope that’s about me.’”
“[I was] kind of going as the first gentlemen of Katy Perry,” John joked. “I know I’m good at what I do. I got no problem entering into someone else’s world. It’s her night.”
“That’s why a relationship like that can work because I know where my bread is buttered and it’s not,” he continued. “I know that it’s not like I was sitting there going like, ‘I sure hope they picked me for the Super Bowl.’ I’m never getting picked for the Super Bowl. I have no problem. I do a different thing.”

John and Andy are known for their close friendship, which began after they bonded over a mutual love of the Grateful Dead. He mentioned the famous jam band in his caption, “Twinkle Twinkle > Bertha,” referring to their 1971 single.
In 2015, the pair took a road trip to see them perform. “John Mayer and I have what some would consider an unlikely friendship,” Andy wrote in an article about the trip for Entertainment Weekly. “He’s one of our greatest living guitarists, and I’m regarded as the dude that stirs the s—t on late-night TV. We do have one thing that bonds us: our love of the Grateful Dead. So when the band did five shows this summer—their last ever—we used their Santa Clara, Calif., gigs as an excuse to take a road trip and bro it up.”
Eagle-eyed fans of Jennifer Aniston noticed that one of her exes liked a series of super cute photos of her on a fan page!
John Mayer appears in the “likes” of the photos from the fan run account, @JenniferAnistonFaniston. It does not appear as if John follows this fan account at this time.

While this may seem like a big deal, Jennifer and John actually seem to be on fine terms! She actually commented on one of his Instagram Lives right at the beginning of the pandemic.
