Sara Bareilles & 'Waitress' Cast Support '#DateMe' Opening Night!

Sara Bareilles flashes a smile while posing for a photograph at the opening night for #DateMe: An OKCupid Experiment held at the Westside Theatre on Sunday evening (July 21) in New York City.

The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter was joined at the event by cast members of WaitressGavin Creel and boyfriend Henry Gottfried, and Lorin Latarro – as well as Prom star Isabelle McCalla.

#DateMe: An OkCupid Experiment is the perfect show for people looking for love, already in love, or who want to laugh… with love.

As a scientific experiment about the online search for love, 38 “undateable” profiles were placed on the world’s most popular online dating site to see if anyone would engage with them. The online conversations and interactions that followed were tracked, measured, and documented. Broadway's 'The Prom' Stars Perform Inspiring Number at Tony Awards 2019! (Video)

Isabelle McCalla and Caitlin Kinnunen hold hands during their inspiring performance at the 2019 Tony Awards on Sunday (June 9) at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

The stars of The Prom showed how Broadway can be diverse and inclusive during their performance, which ended in a kiss between two women.

Caitlin and Brooks Ashmanskas, both nominated for their work in the musical, kicked things off with a performance of “Tonight Belongs to You.” The full cast then joined in for “It’s Time to Dance.”

Also featured in the performance were Beth Leavel, Christopher Sieber, Angie Schworer, and more!

The Prom is currently playing at the Longacre Theater on Broadway. Go see it!

Get to Know Broadway's Isabelle McCalla with These 10 Fun Facts! (Exclusive)

Rising star Isabelle McCalla is returning to Broadway tonight in the brand new musical comedy The Prom and we caught up with the actress to learn more about her!

Isabelle made her Broadway debut earlier this year as Jasmine in Disney’s Aladdin and she joins a star-studded cast of theater veterans for the new show. She is pictured here on the right alongside co-star Caitlin Kinnunen.

The Prom begins performances tonight and the official opening night if on November 15.

  • 1. I’m a native New Yorker (grew up in Queens, Rockland County, and now Manhattan).
  • 2. French was my first language. My father is Haitian and my grandmother and aunts would speak French with me whenever I was with them. I’ve lost a bit of it, but I can hold a conversation.
  • 3. If I could eat pasta all day every day without any repercussions, I absolutely would.
  • 4. I am a HUGE Harry Potter nerd (Ravenclaw for life)
  • 5. I got in a fight with a monkey once. He tried to steal my water bottle. Wrong move monkey!

Disney's 'Aladdin' Opens in L.A. with Broadway's Original Star!

Disney’s Aladdin has made its way to Los Angeles and the show’s original Broadway star Adam Jacobs is leading the cast on the west coast!

The musical opened on Thursday (January 11) and Adam will be joined by his original Jasmine co-star, Courtney Reed, starting on January 13.

Isabelle McCalla, who has been playing Jasmine on the national tour and appeared in the show on opening night in L.A., will be traveling to Broadway for a limited engagement from January 17 – February 18. She will then return to the tour after Courtney departs.

The show is a perfect opportunity for millenials to relive their childhoods during a fun night at the theatre. Just wait until you see what the Genie (Michael James Scott) has in store throughout the musical!

Aladdin is playing at the Pantages Theatre through March 31.
