Elisabeth Moss to Play Former Congresswoman Katie Hill in New Movie

Elisabeth Moss has a new role lined up!

The 38-year-old Emmy-winning actress has signed on to play former Congresswoman Katie Hill in a film adaption of her memoir “She Will Rise: Becoming a Warrior in the Battle for True Equality,” Variety reports.

The movie is being produced by Blum along with Elisabeth‘s production company Love & Squalor Pictures. The movie is intended to be released on a streaming site.

In the book, “Hill recounts her experience as a young woman with no prior political experience whose charm, and common sense won over the people in her district and thrust her into the halls of power in Washington. While her brash confidence won her powerful allies and infuriated her enemies, it was privately concealing a cycle of domestic abuse she was trapped in at home, infamously culminating in the release of intimate photos and the revelation of her own admitted personal mistakes that would eventually result in her stunning fall from grace.”

“I am so honored to have the opportunity to portray Katie and to help tell her story,” Elisabeth said in a statement. “Her strength and work to amplify women’s voices is incredibly inspiring to me and her experiences could not be more important for us to magnify right now.”

Along with the new biopic, Elisabeth has tons of other new projects in the works!

Elisabeth Moss To Play Ax Murderer Candy Montgomery In New Television Series

Elisabeth Moss is coming back to television in a brand new role in Candy.

Variety reports that the 37-year-old actress will star as Candy Montgomery in a limited series centering on Candy and Betty Gore.

In 1980 Texas, Montgomery (Moss) seemingly had it all – loving husband with a good job, a daughter and a son, a nice house in the brand new suburbs – so why did she kill her friend from church with an ax?

Elisabeth shares about the role, “I have been wanting to play an anti-heroine for a while now, and have been trying to work with Robin [Veith] again after Mad Men for even longer, so when she asked me if I wanted to play a housewife from Texas who, some would say, got away with murder, I simply said, ‘Where do I sign?’”

She added, “Adding the opportunity to work with Nick [Antosca] after his incredible work on The Act was like taking a delicious dessert and putting 100 cherries on top.”

“My producing partner Lindsey [McManus] and I are so thrilled to be partnering with them and Alex [Hedlund] and Scott and everyone at UCP on a show that I believe is truly going to be like no other we’ve done and will be a role like none I’ve ever played.”

Elisabeth Moss Comments on Possibility of an 'Invisible Man' Sequel

Elisabeth Moss is opening up about the possibility of a sequel to her hit movie The Invisible Man.

The movie grossed $124 million at the worldwide box office and it was released just a few weeks before movie theaters around the country shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic. It definitely had the potential to make way more than that.

The Invisible Man has been doing big business on VOD, though those actual numbers are not known.

So, does Elisabeth think there will be a sequel?

“Look, if people want it that’s kind of a big part of what we need in order to do it. So put the word out there that YOU want it and then I’ll help,” she told Bloody Disgusting.
