Christopher Meloni is bringing his beloved SVU character Elliot Stabler for a brand-new series!

The 58-year-old Law & Order: Special Victims Unit actor will reprise his role as Elliot in the upcoming NBC crime drama series, Deadline reports.

The show hails from creator and executive producer of the Law & Order franchise Dick Wolf.

Like Law & Order: SVU, starring Mariska Hargitay as Olivia Benson, Christopher‘s series will also be set in New York, centering on “the NYPD organized crime unit led by Stabler (Meloni).”

The series, which has received a 13-episode order, is the first show to emerge from the huge new “five-year, nine-figure, multi-platform deal” that Dick recently signed with Universal Television.

NBCUniversal has suspended production on about 35 series due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The company’s announcement concerns the majority of its shows across all entertainment production units, Deadline reports.

The list includes “all Dick Wolf dramas still in production, Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., Chicago Med and Law & Order: SVU for NBC and FBI for CBS, as well as NBC’s New Amsterdam — all from Universal Television — upcoming limited series for Peacock Angelyne starring Emmy Rossum from UCP and NBCU’s breakout freshman syndicated talker The Kelly Clarkson Show.”

The series will wrap up their current episodes when possible. Most shows are expected to continue production, but the Dick Wolf dramas will not be coming back, as they are close to finishing their seasons.

The Kelly Clarkson Show has one more original airing tomorrow before the hiatus.

“The safety and health of our cast, crew and employees is our top priority,” NBCU said in a statement on Thursday (March 12). “Where possible, we are pausing production for two weeks as a precautionary measure, following which we will reassess and determine an appropriate start date. In some cases, we are accelerating plans to wrap up physical production.”

In February, L.A.’s Finest executive producer/co-showrunner Brandon Sonnier‘s leg was amputated below the knee after an accident involving a stunt car hit a shipping container.

Dick Wolf and his wife Noelle are going their separate ways.

The 72-year-old Law & Order creator filed paperwork on December 3, TMZ reported on Monday (January 7).

He is not asking for a divorce, but rather a legal separation. By doing so, he immediately separates his assets from hers. There is reportedly a prenup involved as well.

Noelle reportedly filed for legal separation last Friday (January 4), in which she asks for spousal support.

The two were married for 12 years, and have two children together, ages 8 and 11.

This was Dick‘s third marriage. He was in a legal battle for twelve years with his second wife, Christine.

“The lawyers for the parties are in the process of negotiations,” Dick‘s legal team told TMZ.

At the event, Mariska opened up about playing Detective Olivia Benson for 20 years: “We merge. We come together,” Mariska told ET. “I think we’re each other’s teachers. But yeah, she’s taught me a lot.”

“It’s a lesson in being present and to not be thinking ahead,” Mariska continued. “If you asked me 20 years ago, I never thought I’d be here 20 years later, and I am fulfilled and I love my co-stars and it’s an incredible collaboration with the producers and the writers, so I’m really enjoying it.”

Creator Dick Wolf was of course also in attendance.

On Sunday, Taylor‘s fiancee Lady Gaga belted out the Star Spangled Banner at the 2016 Super Bowl! He opened up to E! News and explained how he told Gaga how pivotal that moment was!

“She goes, ‘This is a big deal, isn’t it?’ I go, ‘Yeah, yeah babe. It’s a pretty big deal, you’re singing for the country,’” he explained.
