Yara Shahidi hits the blue carpet at the 2019 BET Awards held at Microsoft Theater on Sunday (June 23) in Los Angeles.

The 19-year-old grown-ish actress was joined by Black Lightning‘s Nafessa Williams.

During the show, Yara changed up her outfit as she took the stage to present the Best New Artist award to Lil Baby.

Also in attendance were Yara‘s black-ish siblings Miles Brown and Marsai Martin, who won the YoungStars Award, her grown-ish co-star Trevor Jackson, Henry Danger‘s Riele Downs, with sister Reiya and mom Elle, and singer Jacob Latimore.

Shailene Woodley, Yara Shahidi, and Lili Reinhart walk the red carpet at the 2019 CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday night (June 3) at the Brooklyn Museum of Art in New York City.

Yara Shahidi gets a picture with Sophia Amoruso during FX and The New York Times’ The Weekly event, held at The London Hotel on Thursday night (May 30) in West Hollywood, Calif.

The 19-year-old actress joined journalists from around the world at the private dinner, discussing current events and the upcoming documentary series.

The Weekly follows investigative journalists around the world, as they cover recent topical news and cultural stories.

The series will premiere on Sunday, June 2nd @ 10 PM ET/PT on FX.

Yara Shahidi wears some cute feathery pants during her appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, which aired Thursday night (May 16) in New York City.

The 18-year-old actress chatted all about her new flick, The Sun is Also A Star, before heading out to the fan screening at the AMC Empire Cinema in Greenwich, Connecticut with co-star Charles Melton.

The duo, along with rapper Bazzi spoke with fans ahead of the movie and even served up some yummy popcorn.

Earlier in the day, Charles and Yara also stopped by Build Series to chat about the flick.

The 19-year-old donned a blue, sparkling dress over a pair of jeans while the 28-year-old actor sported a dark navy suit for the premiere of their new movie.

Charles was also joined at the premiere by his girlfriend and Riverdale co-star Camila Mendes.

Yara was supported at the event by her black-ish co-stars Marcus Schribner, Miles Brown, and Marsai Martin along with her grown-ish co-stars Francia Raisa and Chloe X Halle.

Other stars at the premiere included A Wrinkle in Time actress Storm Reid, Disney Channel star Laura Marano, The Nutcracker and the Four Realms actress Mackenzie Foy, and model Larsen Thompson.

The Sun is Also a Star hits theaters on Friday, May 17.

The 32-year-old Black Panther star was joined at the event by Ava DuVernay, Adam Driver, Josh Groban, Grown-ish‘s Yara Shahidi, journalist Mika Brzezinski, and U.S. Representative for Minnesota, Ilhan Abdullahi Omar.

The invite-only event focused on hot-topic issues such as criminal justice reform, climate change, the opioid crisis, and philanthropy as a family value.

Joining the stars were joined by Town & Country editor-in-chief Stellene Volandes, former Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett, Michael‘s production company head Alana Mayo, Oskar Eustis, Anne Pasternak.

On Instagram and displaying joy: “I can say, my friends look great today, let’s take a picture’ and be equally concerned with issues globally. There’s a power in just displaying joy.”

On activism without borders: “My love of history, or even being socially engaged, stems from having, firsthand, people to care about around the globe and at a young age expanding my community beyond these fake borders we put on each other.”

On philanthropy as a family value: “I remember when we first got an investment banker, he would meet with me and my brother at 10 and seven. I think from the time I got my first check, you said [her mother, Keri], ‘You have three jars: You have savings, you have spending, and you have donating. What do you want to put in each jar? So it’s already kind of infrastructurally set up – you get, and then you give some.”

Town & Country‘s new issue also features Ava DuVernay, Melinda Gates and Christine Lagarde.
