Trina McGee Opens Up About What Her Relationship With Danielle Fishel Is Like Now

Trina McGee is speaking out about what her relationship with Danielle Fishel is like now.

Over the weekend, Danielle explained after tweeting about the Black Lives Matter movement that she had apologized to Trina for her past behavior towards her on the Boy Meets World set, and its revival, Girl Meets World.

“I owed @realtrinamcgee an apology for being rude, cold, & distant when she guest starred on GMW (her tweet regarding warm hellos being met with cold blank stares was about me). Trina and I spoke over a month ago and she gracefully accepted my apology. ❤️,” Danielle wrote.

Trina told Yahoo that her “relationship with her right now is decent. We’re very complimentary of each other.”

She adds that Danielle “goes out of her way to say, ‘Hey, are you OK?’ She actually just sent me a cute picture of her baby, so I’m not trying to hang around and have a grudge against the girl or anything, I’m just slowly trying to take steps to trusting.”

Trina opened up about the racism she faced from members of the Boy Meets World cast in January, which included being called Aunt Jemima from a mystery cast mate.

It was revealed that it was Will Friedle who called her that and he has since apologized to Trina and they are now on speaking terms.

Danielle Fishel Admits to Being 'Rude, Cold, & Distant' to 'Boy Meets World' Co-Star Trina McGee

Danielle Fishel is admitting she is wrong.

The 39-year-old actress – who played Topanga Lawrence – has taken to Twitter to reveal that she has apologized to former Boy Meets World co-star Trina McGee for being “rude, cold, & distant” to her.

Earlier this year, the 50-year-old actress, who played Angela Moore on the ABC show, opened up about the hostile environment she experienced on set, while revealing that one co-star made racist comments towards her, calling her “Aunt Jemima.” Will Friedle – who played Eric Matthews – admitted that he was the one that made the racist comment and apologized to Trina.

Back in June, Danielle tweeted about the Black Lives Matter movement, and a fan questioned her, asking if she had apologized to Trina following her claims of being mistreated.

Danielle then responded, saying that she was “rude” to Trina when she gguest starred on the spinoff series Girl Meets World back in 2015.

During a new interview with Yahoo Entertainment, Trina talked about receiving the apology for Danielle, who told Trina that she was “distant” towards her because she was “going through a lot at the time, on a personal level.”

Boy Meets World's Will Friedle Apologized to Trina McGee For Racist Comments He Made Years Ago

Will Friedle is owning up to his past mistakes in an open letter to Trina McGee for the racist comments he made while the two were working on Boy Meets World.

Trina, who played Shawn’s on-and-off again girlfriend Angela on the series, revealed in tweets earlier in the week that she was called “Aunt Jemima” by one of her co-stars.

“Called aunt Jemima on set during hair and make up. Called a bitter b**** when I quietly waited for my scene to finish rehearsing that was being f’ed up over and over due to episode featuring my character,” she shared. “Told ‘it was nice of you to join us’ like a stranger after 60 episodes.”

She then revealed that it was Will, who played Eric Matthews on the show, who was behind the comments.

“He apologized to me 22 years ago and again days ago in a in a three-page letter,” Trina told her fans on Instagram. “We talked more on it and he acknowledged that he really wasn’t educated enough in his early twenties to know he was truly offending me.”

She stressed, “THIS SHOULD AND COULD BE A TEACHING MOMENT FOR ALL. For all people of all races or different backgrounds. He has conveyed to me how much this has changed his perception of comedy. And humanity.”

“Will apologized to me and I forgave him, I then apologized to him for making the statements public because his joke came out of just not knowing, not viciousness and he forgave me. That’s what friends do. Now get back to washing your hands and surviving this pandemic and let love and hope be the next pandemic. #loseonefriendloseallfriendsloseyourself #trinamcgee.”

Trina and Will both returned to star on Girl Meets World, which aired on Disney Channel for just three seasons.

There Was a 'Boy Meets World' Reunion on 'Girl Meets World'

The latest episode of the Disney Channel series Girl Meets World featured a moment you’ve been waiting for for quite some time.

Angela (Trina McGee-Davis) finally made her debut on the show to reunite with Shawn (Rider Strong) fifteen years after she left for Europe and ended their relationship. It was a Boy Meets World reunion!

“I think what the audience wants and expects will not be what the audience is going to receive,” series creator Michael Jacobs told E! News. “The reason is that we decided we wanted to write what was real. Instead of doing a television ending, we looked very closely at where the characters were when we left the series and what really would’ve happened to them. And that’s what’s going to happen. The relationship is lovely and the episode ends that they’re in a good position, but I think there’s a big surprise to come.”
