It was just announced that Tracee Ellis Ross is taking on another television role, this time in the animated series Jodie for MTV!

Jodie is a spinoff of the classic MTV animated series Daria following Daria’s good friend Jodie Landon, played by Tracee. The show will “follow her as she comes into her own and enters the workplace in her first post-college job in tech. Other former students from Lawndale High School will also appear,” according to Variety.

Tracee Ellis Ross is also serving as an executive producer on the series.

“I am thrilled to bring this project to life with MTV, both as executive producer and by voicing Jodie’s character. Being able to give voice to fresh, feminist and unexplored stories of young women excites me,” Tracee said in a statement. “We will feature a diverse cast, comprised mainly of unapologetically smart and ambitious young female characters who are vulnerable and flawed and interesting and funny…. Jodie will be the first adult animated show in almost 20 years that will star a black woman. It will be a smart, funny workplace comedy full of commentary about everything from gentrification to sex to tech to call-out culture.”

Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak buddy up on the red carpet at the premiere of Late Night on Thursday night (May 30) at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles.

The 39-year-old actress looked pretty in a sparkling, black dress at the premiere of her new movie.

Joining Mindy at the premiere were her co-stars Reid Scott, Denis O’Hare, Ben Feldman, Paul Walter Hauser, John Early, and Ike Barinholtz along with director Nisha Ganatra.

Also in attendance at the premiere were Tracee Ellis Ross, Anders Holm, and comedian Fortune Feimster.

Late Night hits theaters on June 7th!

Dakota Johnson and Tracee Ellis Ross have signed on to join the cast of Covers!

The two actresses will star in the comedy that delves into the fast-paced world of talent and fame in Hollywood’s music scene.

“Together Dakota and Tracee are an undeniable force of comedic talent, and along with our friends at Working Title and our director Nisha [Ganatra], we can’t wait to see them go head to head on this new project,” Focus Films chairman Peter Kujawski said in a statement.

There is no word on when the film will begin production or be released.

The Met’s “Camp: Notes on Fashion” exhibit explores the origins of the camp aesthetic and how it has evolved to become an important influence on mainstream culture. Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele served as the co-chair of the gala.

“We’re going more…a piece of art, to be honest,” she said. “It’s how we make ourselves art. For me, camp is a vessel for art, and we took that into consideration. Also, a woman is a piece of art, so there’s something there as well.”

The 46-year-old Black-ish actress was spotted making two exits from the Mark Hotel on Saturday (May 4) in New York City.

“SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW ~ @ferragamo leather flight suit (new) with @balenciaga boots (old- way old. keep the good stuff),” Tracee captioned an Instagram post of her in the leather suit.

Tracee is staying where tons of other celebs will be staying for the Met Gala. The hotel is just blocks away from the Metropolitan Museum of Art!
