Tom Holland is taking on a dramatic new role for his upcoming film Cherry!

The Spider-Man actor plays a young man who struggles with PTSD after his army service and turns to robbing banks.

Tom celebrated the trailer’s release with a post on Instagram: ““I am so excited to share this with you all, this film means so much to me. Being given the opportunity to work with such incredible people is something I’ll never take for granted. So to, @therussobrothers @ciarabravo @jeffwahlbrg @mgandolfini and the rest of the incredible cast and crew, thank you for making this such a special film to work on. Enjoy! Tom x.”

Cherry was directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, who also directed Tom in Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War. Also starring in the film are Jack Reynor, Michael Rispoli, Jeff Wahlberg, Forrest Goodluck and Michael Gandolfini.

Cherry will premiere in select theaters on February 26 and globally on
Apple TV+ March 12.

Jake Gyllenhaal is getting love on his 40th birthday from his famous friends!

Right at midnight on Saturday night, December 19, Tom Holland rushed to be the first person to wish Jake a happy birthday.

“I had to be the first. Happy birthday mate miss you ♥️,” Tom wrote on Instagram along with video of he and Jake at a press event together.

Jake then took to the comments to respond, writing, “Dude. Adore you. Best mate. ❤️💍”

After starring together in Spider-Man: Far From Home back in 2019, Tom and Jake have formed a cute and close bromance.

Several months ago during the beginning of the quarantine, Tom took to Instagram to say that he misses his “husband” Jake.

Tom Holland is getting some serious Oscar buzz for his performance in the upcoming movie Cherry and the film has been given a release date that is perfect for an awards season presence!

The upcoming movie will be released in select theaters on February 26, 2021, two days before the eligibility period ends to be considered for the 2021 Oscars.

If you didn’t know, the Oscars have been pushed back to April 25 next year due to the pandemic and the ever-changing release schedule.

Following a two week run in theaters, Cherry will be released globally on Apple TV+ on Friday, March 12, 2021.

Inspired by the best-selling novel of the same name, Cherry features Tom in the title role as an unhinged character who drifts from dropping out of college to serving in Iraq as an Army medic and is only anchored by his one true love, Emily (Ciara Bravo). When Cherry returns home a war hero, he battles the demons of undiagnosed PTSD and spirals into drug addiction, surrounding himself with a menagerie of depraved misfits. Draining his finances, Cherry turns to bank robbing to fund his addiction, shattering his relationship with Emily along the way.

The movie was directed by Avengers: Endgame directors Anthony and Joe Russo.

The movie was directed by Doug Liman, who is best known for his films The Edge of Tomorrow and The Bourne Identity. The star-studded cast also includes Oscar nominees Cynthia Erivo and Demian Bichir, as well as David Oyelowo, Mads Mikkelsen, Nick Jonas, and Kurt Sutter, who is the creator of Sons of Anarchy.

Here is the movie’s synopsis: In the not too distant future, Todd Hewitt (Holland) discovers Viola (Ridley), a mysterious girl who crash lands on his planet, where all the women have disappeared and the men are afflicted by “the Noise” – a force that puts all their thoughts on display. In this dangerous landscape, Viola’s life is threatened – and as Todd vows to protect her, he will have to discover his own inner power and unlock the planet’s dark secrets.

Chaos Walking does not yet have a release date, but it’s expected to hit theaters in 2021.

Naomi Watts is celebrating the success of her movie The Impossible on Netflix!

The movie was added to the streaming service this month and it hit the number one spot on the movie charts.

“Heard The Impossible is #1 on @netflix !! Wowza!! Here’s a few #tb pics. This was one of my all time favorite filming experiences. Being in Thailand with such wonderful people (some here) and telling the incredible story of María Belón and her family, who miraculously survived the tsunami in 2004,” Naomi wrote on her Instagram account.

Tom Holland is offering a new look at his suit for Spider-Man 3 as filming gets under way in Atlanta, Georgia.

The 24-year-old actor shared a shot on his Instagram with him all suited up in front of a green screen as he filmed some action scenes, and added one more accessory – a face mask.

“Wear a mask, I’m wearing two…” Tom captioned the image.

Spider-Man 3 started officially filming last month, with Zendaya and Jacob Batalon gathering in the city to reprise their roles as MJ and Ned.

Benedict Cumberbatch and Jamie Foxx are also set to star in the film, as Doctor Strange and Electro.

Jamie‘s Electro was last seen in Andrew Garfield‘s iteration as Spider-Man. He was announced to return earlier this year.

Tom Holland just confirmed that filming on Spider-Man 3 is about to start up.

The 24-year-old actor took to his Instagram Stories over the weekend to share with fans that he is back on US soil in Atlanta and will be kicking off filming on the new movie soon.

Tom also revealed to fans that he has the entire script on an iPad that he received shortly after arriving.

“Hey, so, I just got home and I’m in Atlanta. I’ve just been delivered a package. That package is an iPad, and on that iPad is a script,” Tom said.

“And that script is Spider-Man 3, so I’m about to find out what I’m going to be doing for the next five months,” he continued. “I’m not going to tell you anything about it, because I’ve learned my lesson.”

Just a month ago, there were big rumors that both Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire would be joining the film in some capacity. After they took over the internet, the studio had to issue a statement about the possibility of the former Spider-Man portrayers being included in the new film.
