Viola Davis is looking back at her time on the set of Suicide Squad.

Back in 2016, rumors began circulating that Jared Leto was so committed to his role as the Joker that he sent his co-star Margot Robbie a gift box with a live rat inside.

Margot then shared that Jared had sent her a live rat during filming in order to help establish chemistry between their two characters.

Jared later addressed the story in an interview with GQ, telling the outlet that rumors he had gifted her a dead rat were “not true.”

In a recent profile of Margot for British Vogue, Viola confirmed the rumor and revealed that Margot surprising reaction to his prank!

There’s a new Suicide Squad 2 trailer!

The highly anticipated film, which stars a ton of celebs including Joel Kinnaman, Idris Elba and John Cena, is being teased in a “leak” by the cast on Tuesday (June 22).

Margot Robbie also returns as Harley Quinn, Viola Davis is Amanda Waller, and Jai Courtney is Captain Boomerang.

Idris is a new addition as Bloodsport, while John joins as Peacemaker. Sylvester Stallone is the voice of King Shark.

The new trailer shows how Amanda Waller (Davis) convinces Bloodsport (Elba) to join her team, who is in prison for shooting Superman with a Kryptonite bullet. She also explains their mission is to “destroy every trace” of something called Project Starfish.

Here’s a plot summary: “Welcome to hell—a.k.a. Belle Reve, the prison with the highest mortality rate in the US of A. Where the worst Super-Villains are kept and where they will do anything to get out—even join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X. Today’s do-or-die assignment? Assemble a collection of cons, including Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin and everyone’s favorite psycho, Harley Quinn. Then arm them heavily and drop them (literally) on the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese. Trekking through a jungle teeming with militant adversaries and guerrilla forces at every turn, the Squad is on a search-and-destroy mission with only Colonel Rick Flag on the ground to make them behave…and Amanda Waller’s government techies in their ears, tracking their every movement. Nathan Fillion just addressed rumors about his role in the movie.

Joel Kinnaman is looking back on the release of the first Suicide Squad movie.

Back in 2016, the first Suicide Squad movie directed by David Ayer was released and was met with harsh reviews.

While promoting the upcoming The Suicide Squad, which is directed by James Gunn and will be released on August 6, the 41-year-old actor opened up about the first movie receiving the negative reviews from critics.

If you forgot, Joel played Special Forces officer Rick Flag in Suicide Squad, and will be reprising the role in the sequel.

WarnerMedia is not giving in to fan demands.

Following the release of Zack Snyder‘s Justice League cut on HBO Max, fans have been leading social media campaigns for Warner Bros. to release the David Ayer director’s cut of 2016′s Suicide Squad with #ReleaseTheAyerCut, as well as demanding Zack direct his own version of the comics with #RestoreTheSnyderVerse.

Execs are standing up to the social media campaign in a new interview with Variety after fans began harassing and even threatening the studio.

“We’re not tolerating any of that. That behavior is reprehensible no matter what franchise you’re talking about or what business you’re talking about. It’s completely unacceptable. I’m very disappointed in the fans that have chosen to go to that negative place with regard to DC, with regard to some of our executives,” WarnerMedia CEO Ann Sarnoff said.

“It’s just disappointing because we want this to be a safe place to be. We want DC to be a fandom that feels safe and inclusive. We want people to be able to speak up for the things they love, but we don’t want it to be a culture of canceling things that any small faction isn’t happy with. We are not about that. We are about positivity and celebration.”

She also shot down rumors of future projects for a Justice League trilogy with Zack Snyder, saying she’s “very thankful for his many contributions to DC,” but the release of his cut marks “the completion” of the director’s DC films.

“We’re very happy we’ve done this, but we’re very excited about the plans we have for all the multi-dimensional DC characters that are being developed right now.”

She added there are no plans to develop the demanded Suicide Squad cut.

“We wanted to give Zack the opportunity to complete his vision in a four-hour movie, which is impossible to do in theaters. We’re happy that we have HBO Max to let the rope out as it were and allow the fans to see all four hours of Zack’s vision,” she went on to say.

After the release of Zack Snyder‘s cut of Justice League, fans have been asking Warner Bros. to release director David Ayer‘s cut of Suicide Squad.

Ayer, who directed the 2016 movie, has previously revealed that he shot more scenes with Jared Leto than what fans saw in the film.

Now, WarnerMedia Studios CEO Ann Sarnoff is shooting down any hope that the Ayer Cut will ever see the light of day. In a new interview about the success of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, she responded to the fan campaign for the Ayer Cut.

“We won’t be developing David Ayer’s cut,” she told Variety.

David responded to the news on Twitter by simply tweeting, “Why? 🥺,” with the sad-face emoji.

A reboot of the Suicide Squad franchise from director James Gunn is in the works and David responded to a fan who questioned why an Ayer Cut would be released at this time. He said, “That would be horrific brand management to do that. No one has suggested that. Let James crush it.”

Nathan Fillion is playing coy on his role in Suicide Squad 2!

The 48-year-old actor sat down with SiriusXM’s Jessica Shaw for an interview set to air on SiriusXM’s EW Live on Friday, February 21 at 2:00 pm ET.

During his interview, Nathan discussed the rumor that he is playing Arm-Fall-Off Boy in the super-secret upcoming movie.

“That was never a comic I really dived into so I didn’t really know who that was that they were talking about,” Nathan said. “And it certainly wasn’t the name that I was reading in the script. So I just said ‘Yeah, yeah, go for it, whatever you guys think is great, as long as you’re not asking (me).’ It’s so secret, it’s so super-duper secret.”

“Everything you get from them has your name plastered across it so that you can never distribute it, they’ll know,” Nathan continued. “So I start to sweat a little bit when people start getting close to what I would consider something that’s actually accurate. I’m the worst liar, I’m the worst, I couldn’t play poker to save my life.”

The Suicide Squad sequel set photos are continuing to pour in – and it’s shaping up to be an epic follow-up!

Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, Steve Agee, David Dastmalchian, Nathan Fillion and more actors were seen filming scenes for the sequel on Valentine’s Day (February 14) in Colon, Panama.

The group were seen filming a scene in which they walk together down the middle of a street. David, who plays Polka-Dot Man, could be seen for the first time in full costume as well as Steve, who plays King Shark, in a mostly CGI costume.

It’s still not confirmed who Idris is playing – but this is a glimpse at his costume! Margot wore a red tiered dress, boots and carried what appeared to be a spear as she led the group. Make sure to click here to see more photos from the set!
