Charlie Cox Rumored to Play Daredevil Again, This Time in a Movie!

The upcoming Spider-Man 3 movie keeps getting more and more big names attached and another one is reportedly joining the cast!

Charlie Cox is rumored to be reprising his role as Daredevil in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, which is currently in production.

The 37-year-old actor played the character in the Netflix television series, which was canceled in November 2018. Variety reported back then that Netflix had a clause that prevented characters from their series from appearing “in any non-Netflix series or film for at least two years after cancellation.”

It has been two years since Daredevil‘s cancellation, so that gives Marvel the freedom to include the character in the MCU. Now, the often reliable fansite Murphy’s Multiverse is reporting that Charlie will play the superhero in the upcoming Spider-Man movie.

Back in May, Charlie explained why he didn’t think a fourth season of Daredevil would happen.

It was reported earlier this week that another major former Marvel star will appear in the movie.

Alfred Molina to Reprise Doctor Octopus Role for 'Spider-Man 3'

Huge news for Spider-Man fans – Alfred Molina is set to reprise his role as Doctor Octopus, aka Doc Ock aka Otto Octavius- for Spider-Man 3.

Alfred portrayed the villain in Sam Raimi‘s 2004 sequel Spider-Man 2 starring Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst. In a merging of worlds, Alfred will reprise the role in the Tom Holland-led film.

Another villain from the Spider-Man world will also reprise the role…this time, coming from Andrew Garfield‘s Spider-Man universe!

Right now, Spider-Man 3 is set for release on December 17, 2021. Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Jacob Batalon and Tony Revolori are also expected to return to the franchise. Stay tuned as we learn more.

The 24-year-old Emmy-winning actress appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday night (December 3) to promote the new episode of her HBO series Euphoria.

Zendaya did confirm that she is currently in Atlanta to film the upcoming Marvel movie, but she wouldn’t give away anything else.

“Is it called Spider-Man 3 because there are three Spider-Men in the movie,” Jimmy asked her. She replied, “I can neither confirm or deny.”

You might have heard the rumors that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are set to reprise their roles as Peter Parker alongside Tom Holland in the new movie.

Jimmy also tried to find out if she had Thanksgiving dinner with the other Spider-Man guys, including Tobey and Andrew.

Tom Holland Wears Two Masks On Set of 'Spider-Man 3'

Tom Holland is offering a new look at his suit for Spider-Man 3 as filming gets under way in Atlanta, Georgia.

The 24-year-old actor shared a shot on his Instagram with him all suited up in front of a green screen as he filmed some action scenes, and added one more accessory – a face mask.

“Wear a mask, I’m wearing two…” Tom captioned the image.

Spider-Man 3 started officially filming last month, with Zendaya and Jacob Batalon gathering in the city to reprise their roles as MJ and Ned.

Benedict Cumberbatch and Jamie Foxx are also set to star in the film, as Doctor Strange and Electro.

Jamie‘s Electro was last seen in Andrew Garfield‘s iteration as Spider-Man. He was announced to return earlier this year.

Benedict Cumberbatch Returning as Doctor Strange in 'Spider-Man 3'

Benedict Cumberbatch will once again be suiting up as Doctor Strange – this time for Spider-Man 3, THR reports!

The crossover event makes sense as Benedict‘s character, Stephen Strange, is based in New York City as is Spider-Man’s Peter Parker. Tom Holland will be returning in his role as well.

Another Doctor Strange movie is also expected in the coming years: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness! The movie is currently set for release in March of 2022.

Currently, Spider-Man 3 is set for release on December 17, 2021. Release dates have been changing left and right due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so stay tuned for any more alterations to the Marvel release schedule.

Jamie Foxx to Reprise Electro Role for Tom Holland's 'Spider-Man 3'

Big surprise from the Marvel universe…Jamie Foxx is returning as the villain Electro for the upcoming third Spider-Man movie starring Tom Holland, THR reports.

This news is noteworthy because Jamie actually starred as the villain in one of Andrew Garfield‘s Spider-Man movies! Tom took over the role from Andrew a few years back and has so far made Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home. The third Spider-Man movie will hit theaters on December 17, 2021.

Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Jacob Batalon and Tony Revolori are all expected to return for the third installment as well.

This is the second crossover from the previous Spider-Man movies after J.K. Simmons returned as J. Jonah Jameson. He starred in the Tobey Maguire movies. He will also be back!
