Sharon Osbourne Reveals Where She Stands With Sheryl Underwood As 'The Talk' Extends Hiatus

Sharon Osbourne is speaking out following The Talk going on hiatus due to the controversy that broke out on the show.

In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 68-year-old co-host of the show is owning up to her remarks and revealing how she feels about the show’s future.

Sharon still claims she was blindsided by the the show and believes her co-hosts “had preparation, they had written questions for them” about the conversation ahead.

“Sheryl [Underwood] turns around and asks me this question and….she was reading it off a card. It wasn’t on my cards. And then Elaine [Welteroth]‘s reading her questions and I’m like, ‘I’ve been set up.’ They’re setting me up. My anger was like, I cannot believe this, I’m your sacrificial lamb,” Sharon recalled.

She adds, “I wish we could go on and have a adult conversation calmly and work it out but I don’t know whether we can. I don’t know whether it’s gone past that. I would love to but I don’t know whether I even want to go back. … I don’t know whether I’m wanted there.”

“I own up to what I did,” she adds. “I can’t not own up. I said what I said. I got too personal with Sheryl. I should’ve never said stop her tears. She was hurting as I was hurting.”

She continued, “I love Sheryl, I’ve apologized to Sheryl, she’s not gotten back and I can understand. Sheryl needs her time.”

“I am not a racist and if you can’t have a go at your friend who happens to be Black, does that make me racist because I said certain things to my friend, but I said them on camera?” she stated. “I will keep on apologizing to Sheryl, even if I decide not to go back, I will still keep apologizing to Sheryl. I have nothing but respect and so much affection for Sheryl. I don’t want to hurt her.”

Sharon went on, “She had just as much pain and probably fear as I did. So, I should never have dismissed her feelings on national TV, ever. But I said it. I have to own it. I can’t say, you know, ‘Oh, I didn’t know why I said it.’ I know why I said it.”

She emphasized that she was not prepared for the questions she was being asked.

“It was like, ‘You’re asking me the questions, you’ve got the questions written down there, and I haven’t even had time to get my head together to come up with a correct answer here,’” she explains. “You’re the one accusing me. And I didn’t even know this was happening. It was between her and I. I’m the one that should be crying here. My a** is on the line. I’ve just been pounced on, not even prepared for it.”

“I let myself down,” she added. “I let her down by losing my cool, by not centering myself to say, ‘OK, for some reason they’re doing this to me … you’re on national TV, stay calm, stay calm.’ and I didn’t. So. I blew it. But that does not make me a racist.”

The Talk is remaining on hiatus as the network has an internal review of the episode and past claims.

Here’s the latest on the claims against Sharon

Leah Remini Accuses Sharon Osbourne of Using Racist & Homophobic Language

Leah Remini is accusing Sharon Osbourne of using racist and homophobic language during their time co-hosting The Talk together years ago.

The Talk premiered back in 2010 with co-hosts Sharon, Sara Gilbert, Julie Chen, Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete as co-hosts.

Over the weekend, Holly accused Sharon of calling her “ghetto.” Sharon has been under a major microscope since defending Piers Morgan over his comments about Meghan Markle.

In a bombshell report from journalist Yashar Ali, he wrote, “Osbourne objected to Chen having any leadership role on the show and repeatedly tried to rally Remini and Robinson Peete in an effort to marginalize Chen,” Leah told him.

WARNING: There is graphic, racist, and homophobic language included in the below text.

Leah said that Sharon allegedly said of Julie, “I mean, who the f*ck does slanty eyes think she is? She shouldn’t be pillow-talking with our boss.”

Leah also alleges that Sharon said during other conversations about Sara and Julie, “Why won’t the p*ssy licker do anything about the wonton?” and “Why won’t the fish eater be part of this discussion? She’s the f*cking executive producer.”

Leah added about herself, “Not only did I do nothing about the racism and bullying I was receiving and witnessing, I was party to it. I had to own up to my own ugly.”

She added that the show was a “toxic environment” and was “easily manipulated into a web of high school vitriol, hatred and bullying.”

'The Talk' Is On Hiatus Amid Sharon Osbourne Controversy

The Talk is going on hiatus after co-host Sharon Osbourne‘s controversy.

Last week, the 68-year-old was involved in an on-air dispute after she publicly supported Piers over his comments about Meghan Markle.

Then, during an episode of The Talk, she got into a heated on-air conversation with co-host Sheryl Underwood over Piers‘ comments slamming the Duchess of Sussex and saying he didn’t believe her comments about being suicidal.

“We are committed to a diverse, inclusive and respectful workplace,” CBS said in a statement about an internal review being started. “All matters related to the Wednesday episode of The Talk are currently under internal review.”

Deadline learned that the show has been cancelled until Wednesday (March 17). Guest hosts Elizabeth Vargas (March 15) and Carly Pearce (March 16) were told their appearances were cancelled.

Sharon has been involved in controversy since this started, and a former co-host claimed Sharon once called her “ghetto” and got her fired.

Sharon Osbourne Says She Never Called Holly Robinson Peete 'Ghetto'

Sharon Osbourne is responding to something Holly Robinson Peete alleged about her during their time on The Talk together.

It all started when the 56-year-old actress and activist, who left the show in 2011, said that one of the reasons behind her leaving was because Sharon complained about her.

“I’m old enough to remember when Sharon complained that I was too ‘ghetto’ for #theTalk…then I was gone 💨,” Holly wrote on her Twitter page.

She goes on, saying that she’s bringing it up now “bc I was mortified watching the disrespectful condescending tone she took w/her co host who remained calm & respectful because…she HAD to. 🤦🏽‍♀️ 🤷🏽‍♀️ #fbf.”

Sharon tried to clear her name by sharing an email that claimed Julie Chen was the reason Holly was off the show.

Sharon responded to Holly’s allegation with the following tweet:

If you don’t know, Sharon has been in the headlines all this week after she backed her support of Piers Morgan over his comments about Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.

A heated argument broke out on the show between Sharon and Sheryl Underwood over why she was supporting him.

Sharon Osbourne Shares Email that Holly Robinson Peete Sent Her Blaming Julie Chen for Her 'The Talk' Firing

Holly Robinson Peete has accused former The Talk co-host Sharon Osbourne of complaining that she was “too ‘ghetto’” while on the show, which she believes could have led to her firing.

Now, Sharon is sharing an email that Holly sent to her in September 2011, in which she blamed their co-host Julie Chen for the firing. At the time, Leah Remini was also let go from the talk show.

“In response to Holly Robinson Peete’s accusation of me getting her fired from The Talk, I am sharing an e mail sent to me from Holly one month after she was let go by CBS. As I have stated before, I have never had the ability/authority to get anyone fired from The Talk,” Sharon said on Twitter.

In the email, Holly talked about how everyone was “paralyzed in fear of the wrath of Julie” at the show. She added, “The irony that you were the 1st one to ‘quit’ and yet we end up getting fired and is just crazy.”

“I know you are in a tough spot…Naturally Leah is very angry and believes you turned and are not true to your word about your feelings toward Julie. She feels you re weak as Sara [Gilbert] and you all have been sippin on Julie Kool-aid. But I told her you are just looking out for yourself and scared of CBS blacklisting you like they are us,” she continued.

Another celeb is backing up the claims that Holly made.

After sharing the post, Tina took to the comments to react, saying Sharon took “white privilege to the max.”

Sharon Osbourne Says CBS Execs Ordered 'The Talk' Co-Hosts to Grill Her About Piers Morgan

Sharon Osbourne is speaking out with accusations against CBS following the episode of The Talk in which she discussed her friend Piers Morgan‘s comments about Meghan Markle.

The television personality previously defended Piers‘ right to freedom of speech and later made a statement about how she didn’t actually agree with what he said.

Now, Sharon says that CBS executives ordered her The Talk co-hosts to grill her on the subject and she was blindsided by the action.

“I blame the network for it,” Sharon told Variety. “I was blindsided, totally blindsided by the whole situation. In my 11 years, this was the first time I was not involved with the planning the segment.”

Sharon says that she was asked by The Talk showrunners just eight minutes before the show if it was okay to discuss Piers.

“I said, ‘Sure, they can ask me whatever.’ But then I get on there, I say my piece and Sheryl [Underwood] turns around straight-faced, looks at me and is reading from a card with questions. I was just so hurt, caught off guard and stunned by what I was being asked and not prepared. I was honestly in shock. I felt like I was in front of a firing squad. I felt like a lamb held out for slaughter. … They had me there for 20 minutes,’” Sharon said.

Sharon says she “begged them to stop, to please change subjects” during a commercial break.

“I’m a big girl. I’m a professional,” she said. “However CBS blindsided me. I don’t know why they did it to me. The showrunners told me it came from executives to do this to me.”

Sharon also responded to former co-host Holly Robinson Peete‘s claim that she had her fired from the show.

“It’s an absolute lie—a 110 percent lie,” Sharon said. “I cannot have anyone fired…And that is a not a term I use. That’s not in my vocabulary. I don’t speak like that. The only ghetto I know is the Warsaw Ghetto and I think that’s the only time I’ve ever referred to something like that.”

CBS announced on Friday that the network is investigating the episode. A rep told Deadline, “We are committed to a diverse, inclusive and respectful workplace. All matters related to the Wednesday episode of The Talk are currently under internal review.”
