Shailene Woodley confirmed this evening that she’s engaged and we also got our first look at her massive engagement ring!
The 29-year-old actress went on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday night (February 22) to talk about her new movie The Mauritanian and she opened up about her engagement.
Shailenerevealed that she’s been engaged to football player Aaron Rodgers for “a while” and that they started dating after the pandemic started. Because of that, she still hasn’t been to any of his football games!
While she didn’t talk about her ring, there were some moments when the ring popped up into the frame and we screencapped those moments for you to see here. Click through the gallery for a closer view of the ring.
The 29-year-old Divergent actress confirmed the news during an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, which is airing on Monday (February 22).
The reports of the engagement surfaced after Aaron said he has a “fiancee” during an NFL Honors acceptance speech a couple weeks ago. The speech happened just days after we learned that he was dating Shailene, so everyone assumed she was the mystery fiancee.
“I’ve been reading that too, which is kind of funny… yes, we are engaged. But for us, it’s not new news. Everybody right now is freaking out over it, but we’re like, ‘Oh, we’ve been engaged for a while,’” she said. “Yeah, we got engaged a while ago and he’s first off a wonderful, incredible human being. But I never thought I’d be engaged with somebody who threw balls for a living. Like, I never thought as a little girl, I was like, ‘Yeah, when I grow up, I’m gonna marry someone who throws balls! Yeah!’ But he’s really just so good at it.”
Shailene talked about how her dog loves Aaron.
She said, “When I first met him, I think my dog like pulled me aside and was like, ‘If you don’t date this dude, I will disown you as my mother, because the three feet that I run with you when you throw a ball is nothing compared to the marathon I’m able to run with him.’”
Despite being engaged to one of the best football players alive, Shailene still has not been to one of his games as they only started dating during the pandemic.
“We met during this whacky, whacky time and all the stadiums were closed that he was playing in, so I have yet to go to a football game,” Shailene said. “I didn’t really grow up with sports, especially American sports. It was never really on my radar. When we met, also, I knew he was a football guy, but I didn’t know like what kind of a football guy he was. And I’m still constantly learning.”
Shailene doesn’t seem to understand the love for the game just yet.
“I don’t get it. He’s good. He’s great. But, like, I don’t understand. ‘Cause I don’t know him as a football guy. I know him as, like, the nerd who wants to host Jeopardy!. That’s the dude I know,” she said.
Jodie discussed Aaron‘s mention in a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
She started off by confirming that she’s a “big Packers fan” and joked, “You see, he said ‘my team,’ even though he said ‘off the field.’ That makes me a Green Bay Packer. People keep saying to me, ‘No, Jodie, that does not mean you’re part of the team.’ But it does mean I’m part of the team.”
When Jimmy asked if she knew Aaron personally, she responded with an energetic, “No!”
“You had no idea he was going to say this?” Jimmy asked. Jodie answered, “He just knows I’m his biggest fan.”
“He mentions his fiancée, who is Shailene Woodley, who is your co-star in this particular movie,” Jimmy continued. “And that’s just a total coincidence?”
Jodie kept her response ambiguous and replied, “I don’t know if that’s a coincidence, but yes, she is, and she’s fantastic. So we spent a lot of time on The Mauritanian together in a little tent with a little air-conditioning spitting at us, talking about our lives and recipes and people we hate and things like that.”
Jodie also told Jimmy that she’d be willing to return the favor by thanking the Packers in her Golden Globes acceptance speech and added, “I may have to name the whole team. Davante Adams has to be in there somewhere.”

Aaron Rodgers flew to Montreal, Canada to spend time with Shailene Woodley for Valentine’s Day while she’s in town filming.
“Aaron spent the last two weeks in Montreal with Shailene where she is filming,” a source told E! News of the 37-year-old quarterback and 29-year-old actress. “He was quarantined at her place, but they spent time together when she wasn’t on set.”
They had no problem staying in, ordering food and not going anywhere,” the insider added. “They spent Valentine’s Day morning together and then Aaron left town on his own and headed back to the states.”
Shailene is currently up north filming Misanthrope and she was actually seen for the first time since the engagement news broke (but she wasn’t wearing a ring!)

The 29-year-old actress was photographed on Thursday (February 11) in Montreal, Canada and you can check out the photos now on E! News.
Shailene was seen bundled in a puffy jacket while heading to the set of her movie Misanthrope, which she is currently filming with Ben Mendelsohn and Jovan Adepo.
You might notice that Shailene does not appear to be wearing an engagement ring in the photos.
Aaron and Shailene are in different countries right now, but a source told E!, “They can’t wait to get married and they want it to happen soon.”
The source added, “They had a very intense connection from the beginning. They both knew early on that it was something special and different from what they had experienced in other relationships. It’s a quick engagement, but for those that know them, it didn’t come as a surprise.”
Fans realized that when the 37-year-old Green Bay Packers quarterback announced his engagement to Shialene during his NFL MVP award acceptance speech, he thanked someone named “Debbie” and “Chaz,” and then he thanked “Jodie Foster.” Fans quickly realized that Jodie and Shailene have a connection.
It’s unclear if Aaron and Jodie actually know each other, but now fans believe perhaps Jodie introduced them. Jodie and Shailene are co-starring in the movie The Mauritanian.

The 37-year-old Green Bay Packers quarterback confirmed he was engaged to the 29-year-old actress last week.
“It was a surprise that they got so close so quickly,” an insider close to Aaron told People. “I mean, it really felt like one day he was with Danica Patrick, and then suddenly he was with Shailene. It happened super fast.”
“This isn’t like Aaron at all,” the insider added. “He’s usually so methodical about everything. I’m not saying he’s not a romantic, but he thinks things through. He’s analytical. He is very careful. He didn’t seem to be the type to get so serious after just a few months of dating, especially after the way things ended with Danica Patrick.”
“It was so fast that at first, we thought she was just a rebound,” the source continued. “There was no way this could be so serious. Everyone thought it was a casual thing because that’s what he was telling everyone, even when it was clearly not a casual thing.”
“It’s a total whirlwind romance. … No one has gotten a ‘save the date’ card yet,” the person continued. “I’m sure they’ll make plans, but they’re really being quiet about it for right now. That’s why this is such a surprise to everyone.”
“He’s acting very happy,” the source concluded. “They’re very content and peaceful. It’s nice to see.”
