Super Nintendo World will be opening at Universal Studios Japan very soon and a new look at the theme park was just unveiled!

Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of Super Mario Bros., presented a video preview of Super Nintendo World and you can watch it below.

The highly themed and immersive land will open at Universal Studios Japan on February 4, 2021. The theme park says that Peach’s Castle and Bowser’s Castle tower over the area!

It will feature Mario Kart and Yoshi-themed rides and attractions, as well as restaurants, shops and other experiences. It also provides guests with an all-new type of “Asobi” play experience where they will jump, punch ? Blocks and collect virtual coins. Guests can purchase a Power-Up Band in the land and sync it to their smartphones to keep track of their score and compete with other park guests. At Key Challenge attractions, guests can collect keys, gather character stamps and more using their entire bodies in dynamic activities throughout the land.

Construction has already begun on the Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood, but no opening date has been announced.

Famed dictionary brand Merriam-Webster has announced the 2020 Word of the Year – an annual tradition based on the events of the year and popularity of certain words. This year, the word of the year is “pandemic” due to the world’s Coronavirus health crisis.

“Sometimes a single word defines an era, and it’s fitting that in this exceptional–and exceptionally difficult—year, a single word came immediately to the fore as we examined the data that determines what our Word of the Year will be,” the dictionary company explained. “The first big spike in dictionary lookups for pandemic took place on February 3rd, the same day that the first COVID-19 patient in the U.S. was released from a Seattle hospital. That day, pandemic was looked up 1,621% more than it had been a year previous, but close inspection of the dictionary data shows that searches for the word had begun to tick up consistently starting on January 20th, the date of the first positive case in the U.S.”

The official definition of “pandemic” is “an outbreak of a disease that occurs over a wide geographic area (such as multiple countries or continents) and typically affects a significant proportion of the population.”

Celebrity couples with big differences in their ages have been a topic of discussion for a long time and despite the age gaps, they often are some of the most long-lasting couples in Hollywood!

Last year, Priyanka Chopra gave an interview in which she responded to the criticism of her 10 year age gap with husband Nick Jonas. “People gave us a lot of s–t about that and still do,” she told InStyle. “I find it really amazing when you flip it and the guy is older, no one cares and actually people like it.”

McDonald’s has an exciting addition to the menu – Spicy Chicken McNuggets!

For the very first time, the fast food chain is introducing a new flavor of the classic Chicken McNuggets and they’ll be served with Mighty Hot Sauce.

The new nuggets are breaded with a sizzling tempura coating made of both cayenne and chili peppers. The new sauce is McDonald’s first new sauce innovation since 2017 and it’s being billed as the hottest one available.

“This is the first time we’ve introduced a new flavor of our classic Chicken McNuggets in the U.S. since they came to menus in 1983,” said Vice President of Menu Innovation, Linda VanGosen. “As our customers have been asking for Spicy McNuggets for some time now, we couldn’t think of a better time to bring them to our menus. We can’t wait for McNuggets fans to get a taste of these new spicy options.”

The new Spicy Chicken McNuggets and Mighty Hot Sauce will be available September 16 for a limited time at participating restaurants nationwide.

McDonald’s has also announced the new Chips Ahoy! McFlurry, which features vanilla soft-serve, caramel topping and Chips Ahoy! cookie pieces blended throughout. It will be available in Snack and Regular sizes for a limited time starting on September 16.
