Only Two British Royals Didn't Wear Name Tags at the Royal Ascot 2021

Zara Tindall and her husband Mike get all dressed up for the first day of the 2021 Royal Ascot at the Ascot Racecourse on Tuesday (June 15) in Ascot, England.

This makes the second major event for Zara and Mike following the birth of their third child, Lucas.

The couple first stepped out at Zara‘s grandfather, Prince Philip‘s funeral in April.

Zara and Mike were joined at day one of the annual horse race by her mother, Princess Anne, and her uncle, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

Her other uncle, Prince Edward and his wife, Sophie, Countess of Wessex, were also in attendance.

If you’ve noticed, all the royals except for Charles and Camilla, were wearing green name tags and the purpose of them is for admittance to the exclusive royal box at the event.

Charles and Camilla went without the name tags as they were on hand to present the winner with the trophy.

There’s a reason why many members of the royal family – including Prince William, Duchess Kate Middleton, and Prince Harry – walked from St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle and chose not to depart in the cars that were waiting for them after Prince Philip‘s funeral over the weekend.

Inside Photos from Prince Philip's Funeral - See the Royal Family at St. George's Chapel

Photos have been released from inside Prince Philip‘s funeral, which was held on Saturday afternoon (April 17) at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in Windsor, England.

Queen Elizabeth arrived at the funeral separately from other family members, who walked in a procession behind Philip’s coffin from the castle to the chapel. She sat all by herself during the ceremony and we learned the reason why.

Only 30 people are attending the funeral service due to COVID-19 restrictions and the guest list had to be cut down from the planned 800 people that would’ve attended in normal times.

Some of the guests included Philip‘s four children – Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward – and his grandchildren, including Prince William, Prince Harry, Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, and more.

William and his wife Kate Middleton sat on opposite sides of the chapel from Harry, though they were seen chatting with each other while leaving the ceremony.

Prince Philip's Children Princess Anne & Prince Edward Speak On Their Father's Legacy Following His Death

Princess Anne and Prince Edward, the second and fourth children of Prince Philip, have spoken out following their father’s passing at the age of 99.

The Princess Royal and Earl of Wessex chose to speak with ITV about the Duke of Edinburgh‘s legacy in a pre-recorded interview.

The interviews had been recorded years prior and were only to air when he had died.

“Without him, life will be completely different,” Anne, 70, shared. “But from society’s perspective, he was able to keep pace with the kind of technological changes that have such an impact…but above all that it’s not about the technology, it’s about the people.”

Edward, 57, focused on on Philip‘s marriage to Queen Elizabeth II, saying that his “parents have been such a fantastic support to each other during all those years and all those events and all those tours and events overseas.”

He adds, “To have someone that you confide in and smile about things that you perhaps could not in public. To be able to share that is immensely important.”

Anne and Edward also focused on Philip‘s upbringing and the legacy he will leave behind.

Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth have two other children, Charles, the Prince of Wales, and Andrew, the Prince of York, who retired from public life last year.

Celebrities and dignitaries have paid tribute to the royal following the news.

Princess Anne's Living Room Revealed To Fans & They Can't Believe How Normal It Is

Over the weekend, The Royal Family Instagram shared a little look inside the residence of Princess Anne and her husband, Timothy Laurence.

The image features the Princess Royal and Timothy on their sofa and watching the Calcutta Cup soccer game.

“Her Royal Highness and Vice Admiral Sir Tim cheered Scotland on from home today as they played England for the Calcutta Cup, 150 years since their first match🏆,” the account captioned.

While many fans loved that Anne was watching the sport at home, they loved that her living room looked just like their own.

“A standard front room/lounge … 💕 love it – feels like home,” one royal fan wrote in the comments.

Another adds, “I love that their house looks like anyone’s grandmothers house.”

“This is possibly the most normal looking royal house I think I’ve seen,” commented one more fan.

“…and I was worried about my clutter🤣,” another said about the normal looking household.

Items in the room that can be seen include photos of Anne‘s daughter, Zara Tindall, and another one of Zara and brother, Peter Phillips, when they were children.

Many royal residences have been revealed over the past year, as the British Family has been working from home due to the pandemic.

Kate Middleton and Prince William have been working out of Sandringham House while living at nearby Anmer Hall, and Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, are at Birkhall in Scotland.
