Nearly a year after a release of her sixth studio album Smile, the 36-year-old singer and American Idol judge dropped her new song titled “Electric” and the music video to go with it.

There are new Pokemon games on the horizon!

Game Freak announced Pokemon Legends: Arceus, an open-world action-RPG, which will arrive in early 2022 for Nintendo Switch.

Here’s more about the game, set in the feudal past of the Sinnoh region, via IGN: “Announced during today’s Pokemon Presents broadcast, gameplay showed a game world reminiscent of Breath of the Wild, covered in wild Pokemon to catch, and seemingly using some action mechanics for play. The aim is to create Sinnoh’s first Pokedex, and includes exploration, Pokemon capture, and a version of the series’ traditional turn-based battles.”

The game will center around the mythical Pokemon Arceus.

In addition, remakes of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl will be released in late 2021 for Nintendo Switch.

“Experience the nostalgic story from Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl in a new adventure,” Pokemon’s official YouTube declared. Check out the trailers for the games!

A superstar just released a cover of a classic in celebration of the brand’s 25th anniversary.

Post Malone has new music out!

In honor of his upcoming Pokemon 25th Anniversary virtual concert this weekend, the 25-year-old rapper covered Hootie and the Blowfish’s 1995 hit song “Only Wanna Be with You,” which he re-worked to now be titled “Pokémon 25 Version.”

Post will be performing the song during his headlining performance during the Pokémon Day virtual concert, which takes place this Saturday, February 27

Logan Paul spent a fortune on Pokemon cards.

The 25-year-old YouTuber revealed that he spent $2 million on Pokemon cards on social media on Wednesday (February 3).

After a popular series of Pokemon unboxing events in 2020, Logan tracked down the increasingly rare first edition of the cards, amassing one of the biggest collections of the original set.

The first box reportedly cost the most of any: $350,000, containing just under 400 Pokemon cards. He then bought three more boxes from different sellers at $325,000 each.

Then, “the biggest transaction of [his] life”: two first edition boxes for $675,000, bringing his total spend to $2 million in a few months.

Another major unboxing event is set for February 27, and billed as “the biggest Pokemon unboxing ever,” with opening bids on individual packs set to $10,000.

Social media is going Pokemon crazy!

Nintendo revealed the exciting trailer on Thursday (January 14) for the highly anticipated game Pokemon Snap, coming on April 30.

“Welcome to the Lental region, your destination for adventure in #NewPokemonSnap! Venture from island to island on an ecological survey, building your Pokémon Photodex as you observe wild Pokémon in their natural habitat. New Pokémon Snap arrives on 4/30!” the company announced along with the trailer. The game’s remained a Trending Topic on Twitter all day!

Pokemon also just made an exciting announcement earlier in the week: the brand is celebrating its 25th anniversary – with the help of a major pop star!

Katy Perry is part of an iconic celebration!

The Smile singer will team up with Pokemon to celebrate the legendary game brand’s 25th anniversary, it was announced on Wednesday (January 13).

“I love being a part of anything that is playful and is good storytelling and has really good messages to share with the world. Now having a child myself, I understand that it’s so important to play. This is a continued extension of who I am,” Katy told People.

She also said she relates most strongly to Pikachu: “I’m really attached to the hero. I know there are others in the game, but I just found Pikachu to be really cute,” she says.

“I understand the story of Pikachu. On the surface, you might just think I’m just cute, have a couple of cute songs. But if you dig deeper, you’ll realize ‘Chained to the Rhythm’ is not just a fun little song!”

“In this moment of unknown, there are dependable places and characters and institutions and people, and I hope I can be one of them. That’s what I hope for in my personal self, and even in my involvement with this collab,” she continued.

Details are still being kept under wraps, but her involvement will reportedly include a new music program with Universal Music Group. She can also be heard singing the word “Electric!” in a trailer for the 25th anniversary celebration. We can’t wait to see what she’s doing!

The beloved video game franchise made a big announcement on Wednesday (June 3) amid protests globally against racism and police brutality following the murder of George Floyd.
