HGTV has given a green light to a brand new series with Egypt Sherrod and her husband, DJ Fadelf (aka Mike Johnson).
The married couple will star in Married To Real Estate for the network, which is expected to debut in early 2022.

Mike Johnson has opened up about the sexual assault that occurred when he was a very young boy in his debut book, “Making the Love You Want”.
The 32-year-old former Bachelorette star revealed in the introduction to the new book that he was assaulted by his babysitter while his family was living in Germany when he was five years old.
“My memories of fighting her off me and exploding out the front door to get away are still vivid,” he wrote. “Although I knew that what happened to me should never happen to any child, I couldn’t help but think something was wrong with me.”
Mike also revealed that he didn’t tell his mom about the incident until he made the decision to write the book.
“I knew she would feel as if she was wrong, and I don’t want her to ever feel that way because there’s nothing she could have done,” he told People. “I wanted to protect her.”
Mike continues on, revealing that he has spoken about it more openly with his friends about the incident.
“When you talk about it, you gain strength,” he explains. “It was comforting … after those deep, vulnerable conversations, you’d be surprised how much your bond grows.”

Mike Johnson is slamming The Bachelor franchise for its lack of diversity both off and on camera.
In an interview with Variety, the former Bachelorette contestant called out the franchise for not being inclusive.
“It’s atrocious,” he shared. “There have been numerous, wonderful Black and indigenous people of color that could have been cast in the lead roles, and for the franchise to not to do that, it’s just terrible.”
Mike added that “it should not have taken an outcry from the fans, who I absolutely adore — that was a clear sign that there is power in numbers, so I love the fans who signed petitions and things like that, but it shouldn’t have taken that.”
“I hope that they do listen. And I hope that it’s not just the leads and contestants, but people in charge should also be diverse, as well.”
Mike was among the many who called out the franchise earlier, alongside Rachel Lindsay, who was the first, and only Black lead for the franchise at that time.
He was also one of the top considerations for the lead of the next Bachelor season. Matt James was named as The Bachelor just a few months ago.
Mike Johnson is reacting to the news that Matt James will be the next star of The Bachelor, marking the first time a Black man leads the show.
Many fans were campaigning for Mike to get the job this year following his run on Hannah Brown‘s season of The Bachelorette, but the position went to Peter Weber instead.
“I just want to give a huge shout out to Matt James as the new Bachelor, congrats bruh,” Mike said in a video on Instagram.
“I want to give a huge shoutout to ABC. They listened to us. I’m giving you guys a shoutout, the fans. Love you guys so much, they listened to you guys,” he added. “You guys marched in, sent all these emails… and they listened to you guys. Give yourself a pat on the back, seriously, that’s amazing.”
“Don’t feel bad for me at all. I am just so elated. I have so many things coming down the pipeline,” Mike said. “Just quite honestly, be happy, baby. Don’t say nothing bad about my homie. Matt’s gonna do a great job… we got a black lead which is an amazing thing.”
The first black Bachelorette is reacting to the news of the first black Bachelor!
Like many of us, Rachel Lindsay was upset that Mike Johnson was passed over for Peter Weber to lead season 24 of The Bachelor.
Speaking with ET, Rachel revealed that she “definitely asked” for a reason of why he was passed over.
“I was extremely vocal about Mike Johnson and how he checked all the boxes and it doesn’t make sense why he is not the lead,” Rachel added. “And it even seemed as if the audience wanted him. The audience was not into Peter.”
She also doesn’t believe that the reason Mike wasn’t chosen is because he is black.
“I was told there was a reason. What that reason may be, I don’t know,” she added. “I wasn’t given a specific answer. Maybe they can’t specifically tell me why they didn’t choose him. I think if they could tell us, they would, because it just looks so bad that they didn’t pick him.”
“I mean, Michael Johnson was a gift. To me, it was an easy decision, but I’m not in the decision room,” Rachel said. “They do all kinds of background checks and vet things out. I have no idea what the reason was, but they have it. I’m told they have a reason, because I was definitely up in arms when I found out it wasn’t going to be him.”
Rachel spoke up about how upset she was he wasn’t cast late last year, as well.
Sad news for fans of Demi Lovato getting together with former Bachelorette contestant Mike Johnson.
A source is speaking out about how their romance has “fizzled out.”
“Demi and Mike‘s fling has fizzled out and they aren’t seeing each other or texting like they were before,” a source told E! News. “Nothing happened, it just ran its course.”
“Demi was definitely interested in Mike at one point, but it was short-lived and she wasn’t ever planning on dating him seriously,” the source added.
“Mike hopes they can have a second chance again,” the source continued. “But for now, he’s fine with being friendly.”
Mike and Demi got flirty over the summer after his time on Hannah Brown‘s season of The Bachelorette wrapped up.
