The official release date for the highly anticipated horror film Scream 5 has finally been announced!

The fifth installment in the beloved franchise, which was created by director Wes Craven and writer Kevin Williamson, will hit theaters on January 14, 2022.

Courteney Cox and David Arquette are both confirmed to reprise their roles in the upcoming movie and Neve Campbell has mentioned that she’s in talks to join the film as well. Newcomers to the franchise include Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega. There are even rumors that another big star is going to be cast, but those aren’t confirmed yet.

Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who are two-thirds of the team known as Radio Silence, will be helming the movie. They previously directed the critically acclaimed horror movie Ready or Not.

Melissa Barrera will be starring in the next installment of the Scream franchise, Deadline reports.

The 30-year-old actress, who also stars in the upcoming In The Heights movie, will join David Arquette and Courteney Cox in the movie in a “key role”.

Filming is set to kick off this fall in Wilmington, North Carolina and is expected to wrap up by the end of the year.

The first trailer for In the Heights, the new movie-musical from Lin-Manuel Miranda, has just debuted!

The film stars Anthony Ramos, Corey Hawkins, Leslie Grace, Melissa Barrera, Olga Merediz, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Gregory Diaz IV, Stephanie Beatriz, Dascha Polanco, and Jimmy Smits.

Here’s a synopsis of the movie: Lights up on Washington Heights…The scent of a cafecito caliente hangs in the air just outside of the 181st Street subway stop, where a kaleidoscope of dreams rallies this vibrant and tight-knit community. At the intersection of it all is the likeable, magnetic bodega owner Usnavi (Ramos), who saves every penny from his daily grind as he hopes, imagines and sings about a better life.

The film will hit theaters on June 26, 2020.

Emilia Clarke, Laura Harrier, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw walk the red carpet at the HFPA & THR Celebration of the 2020 Golden Globe Awards Season on Thursday (November 14) at Catch in West Hollywood, Calif.

Gugu was joined at the event by her The Morning Show co-star Janina Gavankar, who met up with Abigail Spencer. The two of them are both close friends of Meghan Markle!

Anthony Ramos is joined by co-star Melissa Barrera on the set of their upcoming movie musical In the Heights on Friday (June 7) in New York City.

This is the first time that we’ve seen Anthony in costume as lead character Usnavi!

Lin-Manuel Miranda, who wrote the Broadway musical In the Heights, also played Usnavi in the production and earned a Tony nomination for his performance.

Lin later worked with Anthony in the musical Hamilton, playing his father. It’s serendipitous that the young actor is taking over this role for the movie version!

You might also remember Anthony from his work in A Star is Born, in which he played Ally’s best friend who stands on stage during “Shallow.”

The cast and crew of In the Heights are officially on the move!

Director Lin-Manuel Miranda and leading star Melissa Barrera were spotted chatting on set of In the Heights movie for the first time with a crew of dancers on Monday morning (May 3) after filming a big dance number in downtown Manhattan of New York City.

Melissa, 28, stars as Vanessa in the film production. She was seen filming the “It Won’t Be Long Now” scene!

The In The Heights film is anticipated to be released in June 2020. Other stars include Anthony Ramos, Corey Hawkins, Leslie Grace, Jimmy Smits, Olga Merediz, Gregory Diaz IV, Stephanie Beatriz, Daphne Rubin-Vega, and Dascha Polanco.
