Demi Lovato Reveals She Is 'Not Friends' with Selena Gomez, But Still Keeps in Touch with This Fellow Disney Star

Demi Lovato is on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar‘s May 2020 issue, on newsstands April 21.

Here’s what the 27-year-old entertainer had to share with the mag…

On events in her life over the past two years inspiring her new music: “I would hate for a detail to become the headline when I’ve worked so hard for my music. But I will say that I’ve really appreciated the patience the public has given me over the past year and a half to figure my sh*t out, because I think the mistake I made when I was 18, when I went into treatment, was that I went back to work six months later. But at the same time I’ve also sat back on the sidelines for two years. I’ve kept my mouth shut, while the tabloids have run wild. And my album is finally the place where I get to set the record straight on everything.”

On who she still stays in touch with from her Disney days: “I talk to Miley [Cyrus]. She’s awesome, and I love her to death and always will, always have. But I think she’s kind of the only one from that era that I still stay in touch with.”

On Selena Gomez’s supportive message after her Grammys performance: “When you grow up with somebody, you’re always going to have love for them. But I’m not friends with her, so it felt….I will always have love for her, and I wish everybody nothing but the best.”

On settling down with someone someday: “When I imagine my life in the future, I don’t say, ‘I’m looking for a man who I want to have two or three kids with.’ I think it could be so much fun to share children with a woman … So I don’t know what my future will look like, and I’m open to anything. People always ask me, ‘What’s your type?’ And I’m like, ‘Have you seen my history?’ There is no type. It is solely off connection. I wish I could say, ‘I only date attractive people.’ But I don’t.”

Kate Bosworth Talks About the Industry's Initial Perception of Her

Kate Bosworth looks stunning on the cover of Flaunt magazine‘s latest issue.

Here is what she had to share with the mag:

On the industry’s initial opinion of her: “For so many years I was a young blonde actress, getting pats on the head. ‘Oh you’re cute, can you not have an opinion?’ ‘Oh, you read?’ ‘You got into Princeton?!’”

On falling in love with husband Michael Polish on set: “He can give me a piece of direction that’s so freaking ‘out-there’ and I’ll just understand what he wants. The first scene I did in Big Sur I was nervous and all over the place—Michael affectionately calls it ‘fireworks’ because I was overacting. We were sitting at the dinner table and it’s Jack Kerouac and my character, and she’s in love with him but he’s drunk and f–ked up and crazy at the table in front of her son. Most directors and producers want you to pick up the pace, and you can lose a sense of the magic. But Mike told me not to say anything until I believed it, and I sat there for four and a half minutes, silent, until it clicked and I finished the scene in a way that surprised him but was also just how he wanted it. He called ‘Cut!’ and looked at his first AD and said, ‘I’m going to marry her.’”

On why she’s an actress: “The reason I do what I do is to connect with people. I love the feeling I get when I know I’ve impacted others.”

Here’s what Jihyo shared with the magazine:

On becoming a trainee at eight years old: “Because I started [performing] at a very young age, I felt like this is the only thing I could do.”

On not feeling compelled to fit an unrealistic body image: “I’m happy making money to buy delicious food and eat it with my friends. I don’t think I have to look skinny.”

On how online gaming provides anonymity, if only for a few moments a week: “I’m always tense and cautious about how people see me. But when I’m playing online games, I can feel the truest to myself. Nobody can judge me through [the screen]. That’s why I feel most comfortable.”

Liam Hemsworth Had to Reevaluate His Vegan Diet After Kidney Stone Surgery

Liam Hemsworth is looking as good as ever on the cover of Men’s Health magazine’s May 2020 issue, on newsstands April 21.

Here’s what the 30-year-old actor had to share with the mag…

On rethinking his diet after going vegan and ending up in the hospital: “I was vegan for almost four years, and then February of last year I was feeling lethargic. Then I got a kidney stone. It was one of the most painful weeks of my life. I was doing press for Isn’t It Romantic. But I had to go to the hospital and get surgery. It’s all good now, thankfully. But once you get one kidney stone, you have a 50 percent chance of getting another one if you continue eating the way you were eating. Well, my particular kidney stone was a calciumoxalate kidney stone. It forms from having too much oxalate in your diet. Oxalates are really high in a lot of vegetables, specifically spinach, almonds, beetroot, potatoes. Every morning, I was having five handfuls of spinach and then almond milk, almond butter, and also some vegan protein in a smoothie. And that was what I considered super healthy. So I had to completely rethink what I was putting in my body.” (Find out some other celebs who have had to reevaluate going vegan and begin eating animal products.)

On the reason he went vegan in the first place: “Health for sure. I go from one extreme to the other. My mom always makes fun of me. She’s like, “If you could just find a happy medium in between all these things you do, then you’d probably be better off.” It was right before I started shooting Independence Day: Resurgence. The first two years, I felt great. My body was strong, my cardio was high. What I say to everyone is ‘Look, you can read whatever you want to read. But you have to experience it for yourself. You have to figure out what works best for your body.’ And if something works well for a period, great, keep doing it. If something changes and you’re not feeling great, you’ve got to reassess it and then figure it out.”

On how he’s learned to deal with living life under a microscope: “For a long period of time, it was very stressful, and it really got to me. Yeah, look, there are times when you want to lash out and say something…because from my point of view, the majority of the time things that are written about me are completely false. There are times when you want to speak up and there are other times when it’s not worth it, because you’re just going to draw more attention to it, and then it’s better to just not think about it and let it all wash away. These days I don’t want to invest any more time in worrying about that sort of stuff. I remind myself of what to appreciate now and to enjoy every moment as much as possible, whether that be working or with my family or whatever I’m doing. Just trying to find a positive in it all and enjoy life as much as possible.”

Selena Gomez Gets Candid About Being Under Constant Scrutiny

Selena Gomez is looking amazing on the cover of Interview magazine’s April 2020 issue, on newsstands tomorrow.

Here’s what the 27-year-old entertainer had to share with the mag in her interview with Amy Schumer

On the constant media scrutiny she is under: “My intention was never to become a tabloid…it got out of control. And then I was like, ‘Wait, none of this is true.’ The way the media has…tried to explain things has made it sound really bad, when in reality there’s nothing wrong with the fact that I needed to go away or that I fell in love. I had to start opening up because people were taking away my narrative and it was killing me. I’m so young and I’m going to keep changing, and no one has the right to tell me how my life’s going.”

On what has kept her afloat amid the scrutiny: “What has kept me afloat is that I know eventually it’ll be someone else—and I don’t mean that in a negative way. Sometimes it’s been bad for my career, but other times it’s like, “Now I can talk about things like my depression and anxiety, things that I’ve struggled with and which I’m totally open about, because I believe in seeking help.” But other than that, what keeps me grounded is that I do my best to avoid it. It’s not like I don’t live my life.”

On if she read reviews for Rare: “I’ve read a few, especially because I hadn’t released an album in five years. My friend sent me a couple of good reviews, and it felt amazing, because not all of my albums have been seen that way. I didn’t go beyond that because I know what happens to me. Getting into an internet spiral? I can’t do it.”

On “Lose You to Love Me”: “I wrote it at the beginning of last year, and had just gotten out of treatment. It was a moment when I came back and I was like, ‘I’m ready to go into the studio with people I trust and start working on songs.’ There was an air around it where people were very happy, because it was like I was going to finally be me. When I wrote the song, I was basically saying that I needed to hit rock-bottom to understand that there was this huge veil over my face.”

Milla Jovovich's Daughter Ever Anderson Covers 'Flaunt' Magazine, Talks Budding Film Career!

Ever Anderson is a rising star who has two very famous parents – actress Milla Jovovich and director Paul W.S. Anderson!

The 12-year-old actress is featured on the cover of Flaunt magazine‘s new issue in anticipation of her roles in the upcoming Marvel movie Black Widow and the Disney live-action remake of Peter Pan.

Here’s what she shared with the mag:

On the important lessons that her parents have taught her: “To care for yourself and for others. To be engaged and pay attention. When you don’t care you make yourself and others around you miserable and that won’t get you far in life. Also, to succeed, you have to be willing to work hard, and even if you make mistakes along the way, there is always something to be learned from them.”

On what made her want to pursue acting: “I like that feeling I get when I’m being someone else. From the first time I got to act in a film, I just loved it. It’s like playing a game—a game that you get to play out with the other actors who are all sharing and pushing you to keep it all going. A lot of kids at my school don’t like role playing anymore, so this is my way to keep playing with other people.”

On why she dyed her hair blue: “It wasn’t my choice to dye it blue. It was dyed this color for the film I shot last summer. I love my character in the film. She will forever have a place in my heart. I am her and she is me and that makes it so special because every time I think of blue I think of her.”

FYI: Ever is wearing a Viktor & Rolf Haute Couture dress, Fabrizio Viti shoes, and Tiffany & Co. jewelry on the cover.

KJ Apa Never Wanted to Do a Faith-Based Movie, Then 'I Still Believe' Came Along

KJ Apa poses in a see-through shirt for a new feature in WWD.

The 22-year-old Riverdale actor opens up about doing a faith-based movie like I Still Believe, which you can currently watch on demand.

On his career trajectory: “Every time I try and plan my career out, something comes by that completely throws me off, like a faith-based movie. Never did I ever, one, want to do a faith-based movie or two, imagine myself doing one. But that made me realize that it’s not about that. It’s about what inspires you. I hope that I can keep having opportunities to do work on projects that I’m inspired by. I feel like, at the end of the day, if you’re doing that, then you’re winning in life.”

On having to sing in I Still Believe: “The music was also one of the things that had me second guessing myself. I don’t see myself as a singer. Even still I don’t. I was scared to sing. But I was like, ‘F–k it. I’m just going to do it. I’m going to give it a go.’”

On being in the spotlight: “It was [something I saw for myself], which is weird. Not to be famous, but I always knew as a kid that I wasn’t going to be in New Zealand, that I was going to leave at an early age, and that I wasn’t going to do what everyone else was doing.”
