Lily James and Chris Evans were briefly linked over the summer when they were photographed enjoying a night out together. They were also seen a few days later on an ice cream date in the park, prompting further speculation that they could be a couple.

Well, weeks later, Lily was photographed getting cozy with actor Dominic West, 51, and all rumors about her and Chris took a backseat.

During a recent interview with The Guardian (done before the photos with Dominic West), Lily was asked about dating Chris. She apparently told the interviewer that she “claims to have spent the summer on her own, at home in London, reading poetry aloud and watching films.” The writer of the piece then pressed her if she was alone the entire time and Lily responded, with a “suggestive smile,” “No comment…I couldn’t confess to breaking laws, you know.”

This is the second time Lily was asked about Chris in an interview.

Lily James and Dominic West could actually be in trouble for their PDA-filled day in Rome earlier this month.

The two actors, who have been filming the upcoming movie The Pursuit of Love (in which they play father and daughter), were seen engaging in some PDA while going for a tandem scooter ride in Rome.

The issue here is that you’re not allowed to ride tandem on an e-scooter in Rome, and the actors also violated coronavirus restrictions, according to a new report. There’s a chance they could be fined for their actions.

Local councilor Stefano Marin told The Sun, “The law is quite clear — riding tandem on an e-scooter is forbidden. It’s a breach of the highway code and a breach of the new Covid laws. You are supposed to maintain social distance and riding tandem on a scooter is not keeping social distance. Now we have been made aware of this we shall be investigating. The law is equal for all.”

One day after those photos made headlines, Dominic and his wife made a united front by posing for photos outside of their home and sharing a kiss for the photographers.

Lily James is back in the spotlight for the first time since she was photographed engaging in some PDA with her married co-star Dominic West.

The 31-year-old actress made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday (October 21) to promote her new Netflix movie Rebecca.

Last week, Lily and her Pursuit of Love co-star Dominic were seen cuddling in Rome at the airport and he was seen kissing her neck while taking in the sights of the city.

Lily actually cancelled a few other TV show appearances this week, but went through with this one. She was not asked about the scandalous photos.

Meanwhile, days before those photos of Lily and Dominic were released, there was another big story about Lily’s personal life.

Lily James was apparently “horrified” by the photos of her and Dominic West engaging in PDA.

The 31-year-old actress and 50-year-old The Affair actor, who is married to Catherine FitzGerald, were first photographed in an embrace last week. They were then seen cuddling at the airport just one day before Dominic and his wife released that now infamous statement.

“Dominic and his wife wanted to put up a united front,” a source told Us Weekly, adding that Catherine and Lily “were both horrified by the pictures.”

The source added, “It has strained Lily and Dominic’s working and personal relationship too.”
