Ben Platt is dapper in a suit while hitting the red carpet at the 2019 Jimmy Awards held at the Minskoff Theatre on Monday (June 24) in New York City.
The 25-year-old entertainer was joined at the event by Kiss Me Kate‘s Stephanie Styles, Be More Chill‘s Jason Tam and George Salazar, Dear Evan Hansen‘s Andrew Barth Feldman, Montego Glover, Jagged Little Pill‘s Derek Klena, Mean Girls‘ Kyle Selig and Erika Henningsen, SpongeBob SquarePants‘ Ethan Slater, The Cher Show‘s Micaela Diamond and King Kong‘s Christiani Pitts.

The 11th annual Jimmy Awards are also known as National High School Musical Theatre Awards.
Top prizes went to Ethan Kelso, winning Best Performance by an Actor for his work as Will Bloom in Big Fish at Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts in Logan, Utah, and Ekele Ukegbu, who won Best Performance by an Actress, having played Aida in Aida at Elmont Memorial Junior-Senior High School in Nassau County, New York. Both were awarded $25,000 scholarships.
Heidi Blickenstaff and co-star Cozi Zuehlsdorff sandwich in Tony-nominated actress Jenn Colella on the red carpet at the Freaky Friday premiere on Monday (July 30) in New York City.
Heidi is a Broadway veteran and she got a lot of support from the theatre community at the premiere!
In addition to Jenn, some of the Broadway stars in attendance included Wicked‘s Julia Murney, Mean Girls‘ Taylor Louderman and Kyle Selig, Frozen‘s Patti Murin and Jelani Alladin, Aladdin‘s James Monroe Iglehart, and Something Rotten‘s John Cariani. Orange Is the New Black actress Dascha Polanco was also there!
The musical adaptation of Freaky Friday will be airing on Disney Channel on Friday, August 10 at 8pm!

The new Broadway musical Mean Girls, based on the beloved movie of the same name, is officially open and the reviews are in!
The performances by leading ladies Erika Henningsen (Cady), Taylor Louderman (Regina), Barrett Wilbert Weed (Janice), Kate Rockwell (Karen), and Ashley Park (Gretchen) are getting positive notices and Tina Fey‘s book is getting acclaim for the updated version of her story.
The musical features music by Tina‘s husband Jeff Richmond and Legally Blonde the Musical‘s Nell Benjamin. Casey Nicholaw, the Tony-Award winning director of The Book of Mormon, directed the show!

Over 14 years after the movie’s debut, the musical version of the hit movie will finally debut on Broadway on April 8, 2018 at the August Wilson Theater.
