The 42-year-old “All of Me” superstar and the 20-year-old rising powerhouse vocalist came together for a song called “Minefields,” along with a stunning music video released Thursday (January 28).
The Kyle Cogan features both of the stars performing their big duet.
“Working with John on this video was such an incredible experience. We hadn’t previously met in person, having worked on the song together remotely, but things felt so comfortable and light together on set. Despite the long (and cold) days, I had such an amazing time and am so grateful for the countless talented people working behind the scenes to bring this beautiful visual to life,” says Faouzia.
“‘Minefields’ is about the real human struggles that we all go through to be with our loved ones. With how challenging the last year has been for everyone, my hope is that this song and video can act as a beacon, a reminder, that we can and will persevere – it’s in our nature.”
“There were a ton of hurdles and moving pieces to get this video done, and it wouldn’t have been possible without my amazing team. Sadly, we lost my dear friend and important part of that team, Ryan Brady, at the end of 2020. This video is dedicated to his memory and the joy he brought to so many of us,” she went on to say.
The single features Charlie Puth on piano and was co-written by Faouzia, Sam Martin, Ali Tamposi, J Kash and Johnny Goldstein.

“In 2015 we (my org @freeamerica, @tystiklorius and I) helped elevate Adam John Foss and the concept of progressive prosecutors. I later learned that he used his platform to harm women,” John posted on his Twitter account, tagging his organization, Free America, which is a multi-year campaign to amplify the growing movement to end mass incarceration, as well as his manager, Ty Stiklorius.
John previously spoke with Adam Foss, a former prosecutor, about America’s criminal justice system and inequality within the system. They’ve been linked as far back as 2015.
John continued, “He used my name and association to gain credibility, and while we are committed to a world where people’s lives aren’t defined by their mistakes, it’s unacceptable to use one’s power and influence to harm women. We are so sorry to all of the women he has harmed.”
