Jenna Dewan and Steve Kazee are mourning the loss of their beloved dog Violet.

The couple took to Instagram on Friday (July 16) to pay tribute to their late dog, who Steve adopted back in 2012.

“Our hearts are broken today as we mourn the sudden loss of our Violet Mae,” Jenna wrote on her Instagram page. “Violet was the sweetest lady i ever knew, the best sneaky kisser in the world and the calm amongst the chaos always. Everyone who met you loved you and it is one the greatest privileges of my life to have had the last few years with you. The bond you and Steve shared comes around once in a lifetime and our entire family misses you beyond words. I am holding on to the owl we saw on our porch last night right after you passed being a sign of your wise beautiful soul flying high. I love you my sweet Vi Vi 🙏🏻.”

The 40-year-old actress and dancer just bought a new home in the Encino neighborhood of Los Angeles with fiance, Tony-winning actor Steve Kazee.

The home was built in 2018 and has 7,240 square feet, including a guesthouse. The home was sold to Jenna for $4.7 million and some of her new neighbors will include Meghan Trainor and Real Housewives star Dorit Kemsley, according to Dirt.com.

Inside the home are an eat-in kitchen with two center islands, a private office that could be turned into a fifth bedroom, a movie theater with seating for seven, multiple fire places, a negative-edge swimming pool, and a poolhouse with a bathroom and room for a bed. There’s even a putting green outside!

Jenna Dewan is calling for unity during the coronavirus pandemic.

The 40-year old actress shared a moving video of journalist Sara Snider to her Twitter on Tuesday (January 12). The CNN host was reporting live from Los Angeles when she became overwhelmed and began crying.

“This is the tenth hospital that I have been in,” she told anchor Alisyn Camerota, “and to see the way that these families have to live after this and the heartache that goes so far and so wide. It’s really hard to take.”

Jenna retweeted the video with the caption: “Wow. Please everyone take a minute to watch this. And PLEASE do your part to keep your family safe and those around you safe from this virus. I know it’s been a long and very tough time, but we all need to come together now more than ever.”

Jenna recently shared how she and her family celebrated her 40th birthday amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The Step Up actress appeared on the latest episode of The Talk and chatted about the celebration and how it was different than what she thought she’d be doing for the milestone birthday.

“It was a big milestone birthday for me. So I turned 40. Under any other time, I would have had some big bash blowout. And because of, you know, Covid and 2020, we just stayed in the house. And we had such a great day though. My kids were here. Evie made me a cake, a coupon book. It’s so funny though, it’s a non-refundable coupon book. I can only use these coupons once,” she said.

Sheryl Underwood asked, “Does it feel differently now, you’re forty?” Jenna responded, “No. I feel proud of myself in a sense, of accomplishing and overcoming what I’ve gone through up until this point in my life. And I feel excited about this next chapter. And you know, it’s a good feeling. It was really nice to just be in the house and enjoy the moment.”

Jenna, who welcomed her son Callum into the world this year, recently showed off a post-baby body photo.

The 39-year-old dancer and actress, who welcomed baby boy Callum back in March with boyfriend Steve Kazee, provided an up-close-and-personal look at her body progress since giving birth in a post on her Instagram on Wednesday (October 7).

There was a deeper message to her body progress photo as well: “A lot of people asking me about my post partum diet and exercise plan and I’m here to tell you it’s to make sure you’re registered to vote, vote early, and to vote like your life depends on it because it does,” she wrote, tagging friends Zoe Kravitz and Lisa Rinna in the post as well.
