Elon Musk, Joe Biden & Many More Hacked in Massive Twitter Security Breach

Joe Biden and Elon Musk are among some of the many Twitter accounts that were hacked on Wednesday afternoon (July 15).

Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Kanye West, and the official accounts for Apple, Uber and Bitcoin.org were hacked to promote a Bitcoin scam, Buzzfeed News confirmed.

Here’s more about the scam: “Since at least the start of 2018, scammers have created fake accounts mimicking Musk, President Donald Trump, and other celebrities to lure in unsuspecting individuals to send bitcoin or other forms of cryptocurrency with the promise that they’d have their money doubled or tripled in return.”

A rep for Twitter told the organization that the issue is being “looked into.”

Wiz Khalifa, Jeff Bezos and Mike Bloomberg were also affected, among others.

This time, the unknown hacker gained access to the stars’ real accounts, as opposed to creating fake accounts.

Unfortunately, it seems some already fell for the scam: “The bitcoin wallet address associated with the scam showed transactions on Wednesday afternoon suggesting more than $60,000 worth of the cryptocurrency had been deposited in the wallet. It’s unclear if that money was from actual unsuspecting individuals or from the scammer themselves,” Buzzfeed adds.

Here’s what’s going on with Kanye‘s presidential run.

Jeff Bezos Stands By Amazon's Support of Black Lives Matter In Email Response to Customer

Jeff Bezos is standing by Amazon’s stance on Black Lives Matter, sharing his response to one customer who cried out that “All Lives Matter” in an email to the company.

In the screenshot of an email, the customer says that it’s “disturbing” and “offensive” that the online retailer posted a message on the site showing they stand in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement.

“I have to disagree with you,” Jeff replied to the email in a second screenshot on the post. “‘Black Lives Matter’ doesn’t mean other lives don’t matter. Black lives matter speaks to racism and the disproportionate risk that Black people face in our law enforcement and justice system.”

He went on to point out that he doesn’t have to worry that his son “might be choked to death while being detained one day. I want you to know I support this movement that we see happening all around us and my stance won’t change.”

Just a few days before, Amazon announced that they would be donating $10 million to social justice organizations in support of Black communities.

Amazon's Jeff Bezos Donates $100 Million to Feeding America

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has announced that he is making a $100 million donation to Feeding America to help out food banks during the current health crisis.

The 56-year-old businessman, who is the richest person in the world, is doing his part to make sure that people are able to eat during these tough times.

“Even in ordinary times, food insecurity in American households is an important problem, and unfortunately COVID-19 is amplifying that stress significantly. Non-profit food banks and food pantries rely in large part on surplus food from a range of food businesses,” Jeff wrote in a post on Instagram. “For example, many restaurants donate excess food. But during this time of social distancing, restaurants are closed, and many other normal channels of excess food have also shut down. To make matters worse, as supply is dwindling, demand for food bank services is going up.⁣”

“Today, I want to support those on the front lines at our nation’s food banks and those who are relying on them for food with a $100 million gift to @FeedingAmerica. Feeding America will quickly distribute the funds to their national network of food banks and food pantries, getting food to those countless families who need it,” Jeff continued in his post.

“Feeding America is the largest non-profit focused on food security. Millions of Americans are turning to food banks during this time. If you want to help, the link to Feeding America is in my bio. They’d be excited and grateful for donations of any size,” he concluded.

Last month, Jeff announced that he would be donating $10 billion of his own money for another important cause.
