So many great Broadway stars came together in New York City this week to film a performance to give people hope for the return of live theater!

Bernadette Peters and Andrew Rannells were among the stars who participated in NYCNext’s A Moment for Broadway event on Wednesday (October 7) in NYC’s Times Square.

Also in attendance were Gavin Creel, Telly Leung, Carolee Carmello, Norm Lewis, Javier Munoz, Joel Grey, Eden Espinosa, Sierra Boggess, Kate Baldwin, Stark Sands, Jennifer Damiano, Ari’el Stachel, Andrea Burns, among others.

Some unfortunate news was just revealed about Broadway.

NBC New York is reporting that the Broadway League is going to announce on Friday that Broadway will not return until May 30, 2021, at the earliest.

Broadway shows have been shut down since March 13, 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The shutdown was supposed to end in January 2021, but now will be extended as the pandemic is still not under control and it’s not safe for thousands of people to sit in an indoor theater together.

The productions that come back to Broadway will return across a series of rolling dates.

One of the members of the original cast of Hamilton, Javier Muñoz, is issuing a gentle reminder that the Disney+ version of the musical does not actually include the full original cast.

“A gentle reminder that Hamilton on Disney+ is not the original cast. It is the original production. Both Betsy Struxness and Emmy Raver Lampman are absent as they’d already left the show. These are 2 brilliant artists who poured their hearts into creating their tracks,” Javier tweeted out to fans who were citing the version as the full original cast.

Emmy Raver Lampman was part of the ensemble but left the show to star in the Spongebob Squarepants musical in Chicago. Betsy understudied the role of Angelica Schuyler but left the production in March of 2016. This version of Hamilton was filmed in June of 2016.

Javier was part of the original cast, but played the alternate for the role of Alexander Hamilton. In the Disney+ filmed version, Lin-Manuel Miranda portrays the role.

Proceeds from Montblanc’s new writing instrument will be benefitting (RED) in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Lin-Manuel Miranda hits the red carpet alongside wife Vanessa at the 2018 Eugene O’Neill Theater Center’s Annual Monte Cristo Award on Monday night (April 30) at the Edison Ballroom in New York City.

The 38-year-old Broadway star looked handsome in a charcoal-colored suit while his wife looked pretty in a black and white printed dress for the event.

James McAvoy is bulging through his shirt while posing for photographs at The Children’s Monologues Benefit held at Carnegie Hall on Monday (November 13) in New York City.

The 38-year-old actor was joined by Sebastian Stan, Andrew Garfield, Trevor Noah, Javier Munoz, Common, Lakeith Stanfield, Daveed Diggs and Jason Alexander at the event benefiting Dramatic Need – a charity that uses the arts to uplift children in South Africa and Rwanda.

The Children’s Monologues presented performances based on the stories of children growing up in Rammulotsi in the Free State. Children there were invited to describe a day they would never forget, which award-winning playwrights then adapted for the stage.

James has been keeping busy filming scenes for his upcoming film Glass, the sequel to Split.
