In a lengthy Twitter thread, the 32-year-old performer recounts her time with Shia and reveals why she’s coming forward now with her experiences.

“It may be surprising to you to learn that i was in an emotionally and physically abusive relationship. it was hard for me to process too, during and after i never thought something like this would happen to me,” she started out in her tweets to her fans. “Which is why i have decided it’s important for me to talk about it and try to help people understand that when you are under the coercive control of an abuser or in an interpersonal violent relationship leaving doesn’t feel like a safe or achievable option.”

FKA twigs continues on, saying, “my second worst nightmare is being forced to share with the world that i am a survivor of domestic violence. my first worst nightmare is not telling anyone and knowing that i could have helped even just one person by sharing my story.”

After sharing her stance on the situation, FKA twigs also linked to a handful of organizations that help those who have been affected by domestic violence.

Earlier today, the lawsuit was revealed in a shocking report, which accuses Shia of sexual battery, assault and infliction of emotional distress.

The lawsuit accuses Shia of sexual battery, assault and infliction of emotional distress.

According to the lawsuit, just after Valentine’s Day in 2019, Shia was driving recklessly in a car with FKA twigs before removing his seatbelt and threatening to crash unless she professed her love for him.

They were reportedly returning from a trip to the desert where he raged at her throughout, and once woke her up and choked her. Lana Del Rey Defends Her Thoughts on Feminism, Compares Herself Getting on a Pole to FKA Twigs - Watch (Video)

Lana Del Rey is continuing to defend herself.

The 34-year-old Norman F–king Rockwell singer opened up in a video on her Instagram on Monday (May 25) about her experience receiving backlash for her comments about being held to a different standard than others like Doja Cat, Ariana Grande and Beyonce.

“Nobody gets to tell your story,” she wrote.

“Hey, so I don’t want to beat a dead horse and I don’t want to go on and on about this post, but I just want to remind you that in that post – my one and only personal declaration I’ve ever made, thanks for being so warm and welcoming – was about the need for fragility in the feminist movement. It’s gonna be important. And when I mentioned women who look like me, I didn’t mean white like me, I mean the kind of women who other people might not believe, because ‘oh look at her, she f–king deserves it’ or whatever,” she said.

“I just think it’s sad the women I mentioned, whether they sing about dancing for money – the same stuff, by the way, I’ve been singing about chronically for 13 years…yes, they are my contemporaries. The difference is, when I get on the pole people call me a whore, but when [FKA] Twigs gets on the pole, it’s art. I’m reminded constantly by my friends, that lyrically there are layers and complicated psychological factors that play into some of my songwriting,” she continued

“The culture is super sick right now. And the fact that they want to turn my post, my advocacy for fragility into a race war…it’s really bad.”

One pop star recently called out Lana for her advocacy for fragility.

FKA twigs Made Masks Out of Discarded Fashion & They Are Works of Art

These might not be the types of face masks you want to be wearing right now, but FKA twigs helped create some “masks” that are works of art.

The 32-year-old singer and AVANTgarden, in partnership with Dazed Beauty, collaborated with makeup and mixed media artist Lyle XOX to create some incredible facial sculptures.

FKA twigs modeled the sculptures for Issue 7 of her digizine AVANTgarden titled Beauty of the Discarded. All of the sculptures were made using found objects.

“Being able to collaborate is one of the great joys of being a human. If I didn’t think that before all of this, boy do I feel it now, only a month into having ideas and having nowhere to put them that feels concrete is quite painful,” FKA twigs said in a statement. “This project is about the beauty of the discarded. It’s about how often we as humans get it wrong. We’ve discarded how we’re supposed to live as humans and now we’re realizing there are more simple ways to exist and that the closer we are to the earth the closer we are to the truth.”
