Charlize Theron is getting back on the saddle!

While promoting her new Netflix movie The Old Guard, the 44-year-old actress revealed that making the movie finally made her confront one of her biggest fears – riding horses.

Charlize said that she used to be an avid rider until she was 12-years-old when she was bucked off a horse and was knocked unconscious.

“For some reason on this film, I decided to finally address that fear,” Charlize shared EW. “It was the thing I definitely gave the most time to, even though there was very little of it in the movie. I’m really grateful that I got to have that experience because it was a good one for me to get over.”

“I love horses. I want my children to be around horses,” Charlize continued. “But I always had this fear when I was on them that something could go terribly wrong at any instant. So it was like a metaphor for my life in a weird way, this movie. It was therapeutic for me.”

While filming the new movie, Charlize also tore a ligament, but waited a really long time to get treatment!

The Old Guard will be out on Netflix on Friday, July 10.

“This is so stupid. I did an action movie [The Old Guard] and I tore the ligament off the bone fighting,” Charlize said during a Jimmy Kimmel Live interview back in October. “I messed up my elbow, as well.”

Initially, Charlize walked around with the injury for two months before seeing a doctor. “I’ve been walking around with this injury for two months. How badass is that?” she said. “I didn’t know that it was anything. I just was like, ‘Toughen up. Come on.’ And then I was told by a doctor that it was basically just floating around and I was like, ‘Oh, that’s interesting. That’s why I’ve only been using these four fingers.’”

The Old Guard is full of stunts and it looks like Charlize did a bunch of them herself.

Charlize Theron is being replaced as Furiosa in the Mad Max franchise, and now, she’s reacting to the news.

If you don’t know, Charlize played the role in the 2015 film to rave reviews. However, filmmaker George Miller decided to move forward in the franchise and document a younger Furiosa. Thus, he is recasting the role with an actress in her 20s.actor in her 20s.

“It’s a tough one to swallow. Listen, I fully respect George, if not more so in the aftermath of making that film with him. He’s a master, and I wish him nothing but the best, “ Charlize told THR. “Yeah, it’s a little heartbreaking, for sure. I really love that character, and I’m so grateful that I had a small part in creating her. She will forever be someone I think of and reflect on fondly. Obviously, I would love to see that story continue, and if he feels like he has to go about it this way, then I trust him in that manner. We get so hung up on the smaller details that we forget the thing that we emotionally tap into has nothing to do with that minute thing that we’re focusing on.”

Charlize Theron is 100% over homeschooling.

While promoting her new movie, The Old Guard, the 44-year-old actress opened up about how much she dislikes homeschooling after the schools were closed due to the pandemic.

“I’d say the biggest challenge for me is just home schooling,” she told Willie Geist in an interview, which will air in full on Sunday, July 5.

She added that homeschooling “was an incredibly stressful time for me, and I will make any action movie over and over and over again before I home-school again.”

Charlize Theron is revealing one celebrity she really does not like (in fact, she told him “f*ck you” during her recent interview!) That actor is Steven Seagal.

Steven Seagal was accused of sexual harassment by multiple women over the years and the LAPD actually investigated him in 2018.

“I have no problem talking sh*t about him because he’s not very nice to women, so f*ck you,” Charlize said of Seagal. She then added that she has watched some of his action movie clips, saying, “He’s overweight and can barely fight … look it up, it’s ridiculous. He’s shoving people by the face. It’s a whole setup.”

Charlize also just recently shot down rumors that she was engaged to this very famous actor.

Charlize Theron is speaking out to clarify the extent of her relationship with ex Sean Penn.

There were rumors that the couple had gotten engaged, but the Oscar-winning actress says that is not true.

“What? That’s not true. no. I did not ‘almost get married to Sean,’ that’s such bulls–t,” Charlize said in an interview on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show. “No, we dated, that was literally all we did, we dated.”

“It was a relationship, for sure. We were definitely exclusive, but it was for barely a year. We never moved in. I was never going to marry him. It was nothing like that,” Charlize added.

The couple started dating in 2013 and reports surfaced in 2015 that they had called it quits.

Stern asked if she has ever felt lonely or if she’s ever thought about getting married.

“I never wanted to get married. That’s never been something that’s important to me,” Charlize said. “On the lives of my children, I’ve never been lonely. I’ve never felt alone.”

“My life right now just doesn’t allow a lot of room for something like that to happen. But in saying that, there’s not this thing that drives me [to have a romantic relationship],” she said (via People). “I enjoy being set up on dates but I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to live with somebody again. To be totally frank, they might have to buy the house next to me. I don’t know if I’m going to be able to deal with that ever again, I’m too old for that s–t.”
