Rege-Jean Page is opening up about his show Bridgerton and he just compared the series to something that you wouldn’t expect!

The 31-year-old actor participated in a Variety Studio: Actors on Actors interview with The Crown star Emma Corrin and they spoke about their respective Netflix projects.

On how he landed the role of Simon Basset, Rege said, “I was working with Shondaland on a show. It was kind of just good timing. We had finished on For the People as they were casting Bridgerton. I was walking out the door, and they kind of grabbed me by the collar, like, ‘Come back here. We have this thing, and it’s British.’”

Rege shared the first thoughts he had when he read the script for Bridgerton and he compared the show to something surprising.

The 26-year-old actress was spotted wearing a regal gown while shooting scenes at the Rangers House on Thursday (May 27) in London, England.

The Bridgerton universe on Netflix will be expanding in the coming years and the streaming service recently announced a spinoff series that will focus on the younger version of a beloved character.

Phoebe Dynevor is opening up with her thoughts on co-star Rege-Jean Page‘s exit from Bridgerton after just one season on the show.

For those who don’t know, Phoebe and Rege‘s characters Daphne Bridgerton and Simon Basset fell in love during the first season and got married. The next season will focus on another Bridgerton sibling’s journey to finding love and their characters will not be the focus.

While Phoebe will return for season two as Daphne, we unfortunately won’t see Rege as the Duke of Hastings in any future episodes.
