Bette Midler Confirms That the 'Hocus Pocus' Cast Is Returning for Sequel!

The Hocus Pocus cast is coming back!

Bette Midler confirmed in an interview with FOX 5 that she, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy will all return for the forthcoming sequel to the 1993 cult classic.

“They want to make a movie, they’ve asked us if we were interested and of course all of us said yes. I’m game, I’m totally game,” Bette said.

Plans for a sequel to the popular 1993 film were announced last year just before Halloween, and the director was already revealed.

The three are also returning for a reunion special, as part of a virtual Halloween fundraising event known as Hulaween, benefiting the New York Restoration Project.

The In Search of the Sanderson Sisters: A Hocus Pocus Hulaween Takeover special event is set to take place on Friday (October 30). Fans can buy tickets to the virtual event here!

The Sanderson Sisters are back!

Bette Midler took to Instagram on Sunday (October 18) to share a pic of herself, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy back in their Hocus Pocus costumes ahead of the 1993 movie’s reunion.

“Your 3 fav witches – @sarahjessicaparker @kathynajimy & ME – are returning for 1 night only on 10/30 at 8p ET!” Bette captioned the below pic. “‘In Search of the Sanderson Sisters’ is the best thing to happen to #Halloween since Hocus Pocus + Reeses Pieces!”

The upcoming Hocus Pocus reunion special is part of a virtual Halloween fundraising event known as Hulaween, benefiting the New York Restoration Project.

'The Addams Family 2' to Be Released for Halloween 2021 - See the Teaser Posters!

A sequel to the animated movie The Addams Family is on the way and MGM just announced the release date!

The Addams Family 2 is scheduled to be released in theaters on October 8, 2021, just in time for the Halloween season.

Returning for the movie are Charlize Theron (Morticia), Oscar Isaac (Gomez), Chloe Moretz (Wednesday), Nick Kroll (Fester), Bette Midler (Grandma) and Snoop Dogg (It). Joining the cast are Bill Hader as Cyrus and Javon “Wanna” Walton as Pugsley.

Director Greg Tiernan said in a statement, “The success of last year’s animated film was proof of the enduring legacy of The Addams Family and its ability to transcend popular culture. This second film will be every bit as fun as the original. We are thrilled to welcome Bill Hader and Javon Walton, and to welcome back our incredible original cast for this exciting next chapter in the Addams’s journey.”

An Addams Family superfan will have the exciting opportunity to voice a yet-to-be-named character in the film by entering The Addams Family Voice Challenge. The global voiceover contest runs from October 8th to November 4th in select markets.

Bette Midler Shares Excitement For 'Hocus Pocus' Sequel & Dishes On If She'll Be Part of It

Bette Midler might just be a bigger fan of Hocus Pocus than all of the fans put together and she’s opening up about the possibility of getting back into character as Winifred Sanderson once more for the sequel plans.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, the 74-year-old actress excitedly shared that she “can’t wait to fly!”

While that’s not an official confirmation, it seems Bette is 100% on board for it.

“Oh, yeah,” she added. “We’re just talking logistics.”

Plans for a sequel to the popular 1993 film were announced last year just before Halloween, and Disney+ later revealed that Adam Shankman would be directing the pic, taking over the reigns from Kenny Ortega.

The trailer for The Glorias has arrived, and features an amazing star-studded ensemble cast!

The film traces famed feminist activist Gloria Steinem’s influential journey to prominence—from her time in India as a young woman, to the founding of Ms. magazine in New York, to her role in the rise of the women’s rights movement in the 1960s, to the historic 1977 National Women’s Conference and beyond. Julianne Moore and Alicia Vikander both play Steinem at different stages of her life.

The film also features icons Dorothy Pitman Hughes (Janelle Monáe), Flo Kennedy (Lorraine Toussaint), Bella Abzug (Bette Midler), Dolores Huerta (Monica Sanchez) and Wilma Mankiller (Kimberly Guerrero).
