Joe Biden is a Pop!

The 78-year-old President of the United States is called Pop by his grandchildren, which include granddaughters Finnegan, Maisy, Natalie and Naomi, and grandsons Robert “Hunter” Biden II, and the newest baby, Beau.

The four girls, along with new First Daughter, Ashley Biden, opened up about the new Commander in Chief in an interview on Today with former First Daughter, Jenna Bush Hager.

“He literally calls not just like one of us every few days,” 18-year-old Maisy, shared in the interview. “He calls me, then he calls Natalie, then he calls Naomi, he calls Finn, then he calls Ashley…”

Maisy added that even when he was Vice President, Joe made it a point to attend all the events of theirs that he could.

“He was at everything that he could make it to,” she said. “It was always fun to see him show up. I’d be like, ‘I think I just saw you on TV — how did you end up here?’ ”

Naomi, the eldest of the grandchildren who lives in the area, was most excited that Joe and Dr. Jill Biden are now just living down the street from her.

“[I'm the] most excited” to see “what Nana and Pop are going to do” upon taking office.

She adds, “It’s just a time in their lives and our lives and America where [they] have the opportunity to do so much…[They're] just a few miles away from my apartment, so I can go steal some food.”

Ashley, Naomi, Natalie, Finnegan, and Maisy got all dressed up for Inauguration night earlier this week, and snapped this family photo!

The two were joined by their children, Hunter Biden and Ashley Biden, and also by their adult grandchildren as they celebrated Joe‘s inauguration night.

Hunter‘s daughters, Maisy, 20, Finnegan, 21, and Naomi, 26, looked gorgeous in their beautiful dresses as they looped arms with their family.

Natalie, 16, and Robert “Hunter” Biden II, 14, are the late Beau Biden‘s children with his wife, Hallie.

Following Joe‘s speech during the program, the family gathered in the White House to watch the TV special with Hunter‘s youngest child, Beau, who he shares with new wife, Melissa Cohen.

Hunter Biden was also seen at the event, giving his dad a big congratulations after the official swearing in took place.

Dr. Jill Biden, the President’s wife and the new First Lady, was on hand as well and offered her congratulations to her husband as he was sworn in to the highest office in the land.

Ashley Biden has stayed largely out of the spotlight as her parents, President-Elect Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden, campaigned for his presidency.

However, Ashley made an appearance on the Today show on Tuesday (January 19), one day before the inauguration, and confirmed a long-standing rumor. It has been rumored that Dr. Biden had not heard from Melania Trump to uphold a longstanding tradition.

It is tradition for the outgoing First Lady to do a walk through of the White House residence and have tea with the new, incoming First Lady as they transition to new presidencies.

“Has your mom heard from Melania Trump about doing the traditional protocols?” Jenna Bush Hager asked.

“No, I don’t think they’re doing the traditional protocol, which is unfortunate,” Ashley said. “But I think we’re all OK with it.”

Joe Biden is in the running to become President of the United States, which means that his family is going to be in the spotlight!

If you didn’t know, the 77-year-old former Vice President is father to four kids, two of whom have sadly passed.

Joe shared three kids with his first wife Neilia: Beau, Hunter, and Naomi. While Joe was senator in 1972, his wife, Neilia, and 1-year-old daughter, Naomi, died in a car accident, while his two sons, were in the car but survived.

Several years later, Joe met his current wife Jill Biden. They got married in June of 1977 at the United Nations chapel in New York City, and welcomed daughter Ashley in 1981.

Beau served as served as the 44th Attorney General of Delaware and a Major in the Delaware Army National Guard. He married wife Hallie in 2002, and they had a daughter and son, Natalie and Robert “Hunter,” in 2004 and 2006 respectively.

Beau was sadly diagnosed with brain cancer in 2013, and tragically died two years later May 30, 2015 at the age of 46.

Joe‘s second son Hunter is a lawyer and investment advisor.

Hunter married wife Kathleen in 1993, and they have three daughters together: Naomi, Finnegan, and Maisy. They separated in 2015 and finalized their divorced in 2017. In 2016, Hunter, began dating his late brother Beau‘s widow Hallie for several months.

In August 2018, Hunter welcomed a child with Lunden Alexis Roberts from Arkansas, but not much information is known about his fourth child.

Hunter then married South African filmmaker Melissa Cohen in May 2019, and they welcomed their son in March 2020.

During an interview with the New Yorker in 2019, Hunter opened up about his decades-long struggle with drugs and alcohol, saying, “Everybody has trauma. There’s addiction in every family. I was in that darkness. I was in that tunnel—it’s a never-ending tunnel. You don’t get rid of it. You figure out how to deal with it.”

Ashley is Joe‘s youngest and only child with Jill. After graduating from Tulane University, she become the executive director of the Delaware Center for Justice, a criminal justice reform-oriented nonprofit. Ashley also worked as a social worker in Delaware for 15 years. In 2017, she founded Livelihood, an American-made clothing company.

Ashley married plastic surgeon Howard Krein in 2012.

During the Democratic National Convention over the summer, Joe‘s grandkids Naomi, Finnegan, Maisy, Natalie, and Hunter all recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
