Troye Sivan poses for a photo on the carpet at Variety’s Creative Impact Awards and 10 Directors to Watch Brunch during the 2019 Palm Springs International Film Festival on Friday (January 4) in Palm Springs, Calif.

The 23-year-old entertainer is being honored with the Creative Conscience in Film Award for his work in the movie Boy Erased. He appears in the film as an actor and also wrote and performed the song “Revelation” for the movie.

“It’s really, really cool. I think the switch up for me this year, well I guess last year now, has been a really, really fun adventure and challenge. This all feels so fresh all over again,” Troye said. “I’m having a really good time.”

“It’s nuts. I brought my sister from Australia and we’re going to the Globes on Sunday. This is the kind of thing that we have watched since we were kids and dreamed about being here. We’re just going to have a really good time,” he added.

Bradley of course made his directorial debut last year with A Star Is Born and he’s earning tons of acclaim and awards buzz for his work.

Olivia‘s directorial debut Booksmart is set to be released on May 24.

Ryan, who directed their film Black Panther, was an honoree that day!

“What I do is I just try to stay true to myself,” Ryan recently told Variety about his style. “I’ve always made the films that I really wanted to make, that I was really obsessed with at the time, and I’m just trying to do that same thing now.”
