A brand new teaser for the upcoming movie The Suicide Squad has been revealed and the entire cast and their characters were unveiled in the clip!

The teaser was played during the film’s panel at DC Fandome, a live-streamed event for the DC Universe.

Some of the stars from the 2016 movie Suicide Squad are reprising their roles in the new film, including Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, and Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang.

“The Suicide Squad is by far the most fun I’ve ever had making a movie,” director James Gunn told fans during the panel. “The character I was most excited to write for was Harley Quinn there’s a chaotic, trickster god [element] to her.”

The film’s producer Peter Safran said that the project is “a total reboot… everything you would hope from a James Gunn script and I think that says a lot and that promises a lot and I know that we will deliver a lot.”

The Suicide Squad sequel set photos are continuing to pour in – and it’s shaping up to be an epic follow-up!

Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, Steve Agee, David Dastmalchian, Nathan Fillion and more actors were seen filming scenes for the sequel on Valentine’s Day (February 14) in Colon, Panama.

The group were seen filming a scene in which they walk together down the middle of a street. David, who plays Polka-Dot Man, could be seen for the first time in full costume as well as Steve, who plays King Shark, in a mostly CGI costume.

It’s still not confirmed who Idris is playing – but this is a glimpse at his costume! Margot wore a red tiered dress, boots and carried what appeared to be a spear as she led the group. Make sure to click here to see more photos from the set!

The Suicide Squad is expected to be released in August of 2021.

It seems The Suicide Squad has found its King Shark in comedian Steve Agee!

The 50-year-old The Sarah Silverman Program star will provide the voiceover for the super-villain character in the James Gunn-directed sequel, Deadline reported on Saturday (August 24).

The character of King Shark was first introduced in Superboy vol. 3 in October of 1994 before making a full appearance in November of 1994.

Steve previously starred in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, also directed by James, as Gef, one of the members of the Ravagers.

The cast already includes Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller and Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang. Joel Kinnaman will play Rick Flag, while Idris Elba will also be joining the cast.

The Suicide Squad‘s table read will reportedly occur on September 11, with production to follow later in the month. The film is set to be released on August 6, 2021.
