Jessica Chastain is opening up about the gender pay gap in Hollywood.

The Oscar-nominated actress was asked about it during a recent interview.

“I love the article that Jennifer Lawrence wrote about the pay gap – I thought it was so important,” Jessica told Business Insider. “I love that people are talking about it. It makes sense that journalists are asking actresses and actors about it because, seriously, producers aren’t the ones doing press.”

Jessica also said, “For me, I’m not in an industry where I’m starving. I’m so lucky to have this job, I’m compensated for my work in an incredible way. But what I do ask is when I join a production I want to make sure that the male actor isn’t making four times my salary, which has been true, or seven times my salary. And if that’s true you go, you know what, I don’t need this job. It’s not really asking for more – it’s asking for something that is respectable and equal to the male actor and you have to go, why are women being valued less?”

Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin hit the red carpet together at the season two premiere of their hit show Grace & Frankie held at Harmony Gold on Sunday (May 1) in Los Angeles.

The two ladies were joined at the event by their co-stars Brooklyn Decker, pregnant June Diane Raphael and her hubby Paul Scheer, Ernie Hudson, Sam Waterston, Ethan Embry and Brittany Ishibashi.

Amanda Seyfried, January Jones and Kristen Bell strike a pose while attending the Concert for Our Oceans hosted by Seth MacFarlane held at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts on Monday (September 28) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The event benefited Oceana, which is the largest international advocacy organization focused solely on ocean conservation.

January Jones catches up with Kiernan Shipka inside the 2015 Oceana SeaChange Summer Party on Saturday night (August 1) in Dana Point, Calif.

The former Mad Men mother and daughter duo also caught up with Jon Hamm inside the event, honored marine ecologist and National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence, Dr. Enric Sala, for his work to protect the world’s last pristine marine ecosystems.

Two Broke Girls‘ Beth Behrs, Nolan Gould, Aimee Teegarden, Bethany Joy Lenz and Sam Waterston also stepped out for the annual event.

Speaking at the event, Oceana ambassador January talked about her work with Oceana to protect sharks.

“I’ve long been a supporter of Oceana and have been fortunate enough to work with them on their efforts to save sharks,” she shared. “These are some of the most fascinating�”and threatened�”creatures in our oceans.”

Netflix has renewed another one of its brand new series – Grace and Frankie will be getting a second season!

The news was confirmed with a statement by series co-creator Marta Kauffman, who also created Friends.

“Let me say, it’s so awesome to do a show on Netflix,” she said. “Because two and a half weeks after we launched, Miley Cyrus does a tweet about your show, and they call and say, ‘We’d like to do a season two.’ So yes, there is a season two. We have Ted [Sarandos] and Miley to thank.”

Grace and Frankie stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin as enemies whose husbands leave them for each other. Season one is streaming in full right now on Netflix.

The 77-year-old actress and Lily, 75, were joined at the event by their co-stars Brooklyn Decker, Sam Waterston, Ethan Embry, and June Diane Raphael who was accompanied by her husband Paul Scheer.

Jane and Lily play the title characters Grace And Frankie, whose husbands, Robert (Martin Sheen) and Sol (Sam), deliver a double whammy when they come out as gay and also declare that they’re planning to marry each other. Grace and Frankie have had a long and terrible relationship but are forced to lean on each other.
