Not every actor likes to see themselves on the big screen – but some don’t even like to remember that they participated in a production altogether.
Over the years, many different stars have revealed in various magazine interviews and through assorted podcast and TV appearances that they don’t always love the movie and TV roles they took on in the past…even if the roles might be some of their most iconic and memorable works to date.
Sometimes, the stars have doubts about their performance. Or, they had poor experiences with their co-stars or directors. And in other cases, they just decided that the script wasn’t all that good looking back. In any case, they’ve all since come out and said they don’t necessarily love their appearances in certain films and TV shows.
Sally Field is headed to television in HBO’s LA Lakers series, Variety reports.
The 74-year-old actress has joined Adrien Brody, John C. Reilly and Michael Chiklis in the still untitled series which centers on the professional and personal lives of the 1980s Los Angeles Lakers.
Sally is set to star as Jessie Buss, mother of Lakers owner Jerry Buss (Reilly).
As a young single mother, Jessie instilled in her son a love of math, money, and good times. Decades later, her son is a successful businessman – but he turns to her as a trusted advisor and bookkeeper.
Michael will play Boston Celtics coach Red Auerbach and Adrien is Pat Riley.
Most recently, Sally was seen in 2015′s Hello, My Name is Doris and 2017′s Little Evil. She’s best known for her roles in Forrest Gump, Norma Rae and Lincoln.
“What movie automatically makes you cry no matter how many times you’ve seen it? You can do more than 1,” the Twitter prompt from one user reads, which resulted in hundreds of responses. And one of the most common responses? Steel Magnolias!
The movie follows a young beautician who arrives in a small Louisiana town and finds work at the local salon, where a small group of women share a close bond of friendship, and welcome her into the fold.
“BAY BAY!! Steel Magnolias will hit you in the feels every time. I also have learned that I’m more like Ouisa as I mature and I’m OK with that,” said another.
“Woke up my favorite white movie trending, Steel Magnolias. ‘Don’t talk about me like I’m not here!’ ‘Open your eyes, Shelby. Open, open your eyes,’” added another.

Sally had a big smile on her face when she got led away from the steps of the U.S. Capitol with zip-tie cuffs on her wrists.
While explaining the protest, Janesaid, “In a Just Transition to a clean energy economy, we need programs and policies that provide wage, benefits, pension and collective bargaining guarantees for workers and retirees who have devoted their entire lives to producing the fuel, electricity, and products responsible for sustaining America’s economic prosperity.”
