Mean Girls star Jonathan Bennett is engaged to his boyfriend, Celebrity Page host Jaymes Vaughan!
The 39-year-old actor told the story of Jaymes‘ proposal and it’s so sweet!
“I was told we were going to be taking family Christmas card photos and that’s why Jaymes’s photographer friend Eric (Ita) was here along with my photographer nephew Andrew (Herner). But then no one would look me in the eye and I was like what is going on? I later found it out it was because they didn’t want to spoil what was about to happen. My sister shouted for me to come outside ‘real quick’ and my F.O.M.O. kicked in so I ran outside. Then I looked over and saw Jaymes holding a sign that said ‘We never did find our song, so I wrote it for you.’ That’s when I knew was getting proposed to because it was the same type of sign he made when he told me he loved me for the first time. And then I began to ugly-cry the ugliest cry anyone has ever cried,” Jonathan told People. “All I was doing was ugly-crying. But I just remember feeling like I was home. I knew from the minute I saw him with the sign I was getting proposed to. Why else would you be in our yard with a sign with my family here a song playing and your friend and my nephew filming it?”

Jonathan Bennett is reflecting on the Mean Girls Zoom reunion.
One week after the Mean Girls cast came together to celebrate the film’s 16th anniversary, Jonathan, who played Aaron Samuels, revealed what it was like to E!’s Daily Pop.
“It was a moment!” he said of the reunion.
“Because here’s the thing…we haven’t all been together in 16 years, and to all be together for the first time, and do it on Zoom — already it’s awkward to see each other for the first time; you want to say so many things — but then when you’re on a Zoom call, it’s even more awkward because you’re waiting for the person to talk and you don’t want to interrupt,” he went on to say.
“You’re just like, ‘Whatever you wanna say!’” he recalled, adding that it was still “super fun to see everyone” he worked with on the movie.
“It really did give us, like, a sense of nostalgia seeing everybody and being next to each other, like, on screen. It brought back so many, like, high school memories. You know, when you run into an old classmate from high school? It was really fun.”

Katie Couric brought the entire cast together after reaching her goal of getting 5,000 people to register to vote as part of HeadCount’s Good to Vote campaign.
Lindsay Lohan, Tina Fey, Amanda Seyfried, Lacey Chabert, Lizzy Caplan, Daniel Franzese, Jonathan Bennett, Tim Meadows, Ana Gasteyer, and Rajiv Surendra all participated in the reunion. Rachel McAdams, who is currently pregnant, was unable to attend the reunion, but she did a solo Zoom call with Katie that was included.
Amanda had to lay down during the call as she just gave birth to her second child, which Katie noted at the beginning.
Tina revealed that she had to change lines in the movie to get a PG-13 rating. She said, “We felt it was important to get that PG-13 so I had to keep peeling that away. I remember one of the weird ones, we couldn’t say… in the cafeteria Jason Weems says ‘is your cherry popped?’ and they wouldn’t let us say it. I do think because it was girls and not boys MPAA were like ‘no,’ they couldn’t handle it. So we had to change ‘is your cherry popped’ to a weird audio replacement of ‘is your muffin buttered,’ which means nothing.”

In the movie, Lindsay Lohan‘s character Cady Heron crushes on her classmate Aaron Samuels, played by Jonathan Bennett. She notes in a scene, “On October 3rd, he asked me what day it was.”
Mean Girls helped launch Lindsay to super-stardom following her beloved roles in The Parent Trap and Freaky Friday.
The film’s red carpet premiere was held at the Cinerama Dome Theater in Hollywood on April 19, 2004. In attendance were Lindsay, Jonathan, Tina Fey, Rachel McAdams, Lizzy Caplan, Lacey Chabert, Amy Poehler, Tim Meadows, Kevin Nealon, and producer Lorne Michaels. RuPaul happily hits the red carpet with his little co-star Izzy G. while attending the season one premiere of their new Netflix series AJ & The Queen held at the Egyptian Theatre on Thursday (January 9) in Hollywood.
The drag queen superstar and Izzy were joined at the event by Sex and the City‘s Kristin Davis, Whitney Cummings, Ross Mathews, Michelle Visage, Este Haim, Kalen Allen, Gigi Gorgeous, Tatiana Maslany and Jonathan Bennett as they all came out to show their support.
Also in attendance were the other stars of the series Michael-Leon Wooley, Tia Carrere, Katerina Tannenbaum, Matthew Wilkas, showrunner Michael Patrick King and drag queens Shangela, Ginger Minj, Eureka, Mayhem Miller, Mariah Balenciaga, Valentina, Ongina, Monique Heart, Pandora Boxx, Trinity The Tuck, Latrice Royale and Jaymes Mansfield.
