Dennis Sheehan Dead - U2's Longtime Tour Manager Dies After Cardiac Arrest

U2‘s longtime tour manager Dennis Sheehan has passed away after going into cardiac arrest at his hotel in Los Angeles on Wednesday (May 27).

The manager, who was in his late sixties, was pronounced dead at the famed Sunset Marquis Hotel. He was the tour manager for U2 for over thirty years, ABC 7 reports.

Bono released a statement on the band’s website to mourn their friend.

“We’ve lost a family member, we’re still taking it in. He wasn’t just a legend in the music business, he was a legend in our band. He is irreplaceable.”

Our thoughts go out to Dennis‘ friends and family during this time.

Bono Reveals He May Never Be Able to Play Guitar Again

Bad news U2 fans — Bono just revealed that he might have to stop playing guitar forever.

After his biking accident in November, the band was forced to cancel shows — including their Today show residency — and now it looks like the band could have to change things up completely.

“On the day of my 50th birthday I received an injury because I was over indulging in exercise boxing and cycling, which was itself an overcompensation for overindulging on alcohol coming up to the big birthday,” Bono wrote on U2‘s site. “I promised myself I would be more mindful of my limits, but just four years on, it happened again – a massive injury I can’t blame on anyone but myself, mainly because I blanked out on impact and have no memory of how I ended up in New York Presbyterian with my humerus bone sticking through my leather jacket. Very punk rock as injuries go.”

He continued, saying: “Recovery has been more difficult than I thought… As I write this, it is not clear that I will ever play guitar again. The band have reminded me that neither they nor Western civilization are depending on this.”

“The world reached a tipping point in the fight against AIDS,” Bono shared in a statement about the concert. “A lot of people are calling it the beginning of the end of AIDS. We wouldn’t be at this point without American leadership, people from the left and the right. Today, 13 million people have access to life-saving treatment, up from 300,000 just over ten years ago. Americans don’t know the role they’ve played in this fight. Tonight’s event is to inform them and thank them.”

FYI: Carrie is wearing a Lionette by Noa Sade hand piece on her microphone hand.

U2 Cancels 'Tonight Show' Residency After Bono Injured in Bike Accident

U2 had been set to perform a week-long residency on The Tonight Show this week, but now the band has been forced to cancel after frontman Bono was injured in a bike accident.

“It looks like we will have to do our Tonight Show residency another time – we’re one man down,” the band wrote in a statement on their website. “Bono has injured his arm in a cycling spill in Central Park and requires some surgery to repair it. We’re sure he’ll make a full recovery soon, so we’ll be back! Much thanks to Jimmy Fallon and everyone at the show for their understanding.”

We wish Bono a speedy recovery!
