Alec Baldwin's Donald Trump Names Joe Exotic as His 2020 Running Mate on 'SNL' - Watch! (Video)

Saturday Night Live is back, and Alec Baldwin is reprising his role as President Donald Trump!

The 62-year-old actor called into the “Weekend Update” segment to chat with co-hosts Colin Jost and Michel Che about the pandemic on Saturday night (April 11).

“Well, I’m happy to report, Colin, that America is now number one in the world for coronavirus. Number one, while I was president! #Americanumberone. #Notimportantwhy,” he said during the call.

“I’ve always said it was a giant hoax that we should take very seriously, even though it was invented by the Democrats…so, everyone needs to wash their hands, or not.”

Later on, he made a reference to the wildly popular Netflix series, Tiger King.

“Well, in times like this, we need to come together as one nation. Because no matter our differences, all Americans can agree on one thing — Carole Baskin definitely fed her husband to those tigers,” he said.

“I am proud to announce, Trump/Exotic 2020…I’m sorry Mike Pence had to find out this way. But, I have a feeling Pence is going to be pretty into Joe Exotic.”

Kristin Chenoweth Sings as Carole Baskin, Performs Song from Her Perspective - Listen Now!

Kristin Chenoweth is performing the role of Carole Baskin in a Tiger King parody musical written by her longtime friend Andrew Lippa!

While they’re in quarantine, Andrew has been writing songs for a parody of the Netflix series and Kristin recorded one from Carole‘s perspective.

“Little Pieces” is an anthem for Carole and the song definitely seems to imply that she could have killed her husband Don, something that the docu-series explored.

“Hey all you cool cats and kittens,” Kristin says while kicking off the song. Listen below!

Rob Lowe in Talks for Joe Exotic Adaptation From Ryan Murphy

Rob Lowe might star in a Joe Exotic adaptation from Ryan Murphy!

The 56-year-old actor and the 54-year-old screenwriter are in talks to work together on the scripted project, Deadline reports.

Rob would take on the role of Joe (aka Joseph Maldonado-Passage), the lead character from Netflix’s popular docuseries Tiger King.

Rob teased the potential adaptation on Instagram, with photos of himself dressed up in character and holding onto a dog.

“Rob Exotic,” he captioned them. “UPDATE: Ryan Murphy and I will be developing our version of this insane story. Stay tuned!”

It is not known if the project would be a movie or limited series, though it would likely be on Netflix.

Rob Lowe currently stars in Fox’s spin-off series 9-1-1: Lone Star, co-created and executive produced by Ryan Murphy.

Another Tiger King-inspired project, a limited series titled Joe Exotic, is also in the works starring and executive produced by Kate McKinnon.

A New 'Tiger King' Episode Is Coming to Netflix on April 12

Joel McHale is set to host an upcoming eighth installment of the docu-series Tiger King, to be titled Tiger King and I.

The new episode is being billed as an “after show” and will feature new interviews with John Reinke, Joshua Dial, John Finlay, Saff, Erik Cowie, Rick Kirkman, and Jeff and Lauren Lowe.

Tiger King is currently one of the most popular series on TV and it has been ranking number one on the streaming service since its launch. New data shows that the series has even received more viewers than Stranger Things season two in the first 10 days of release!

Joe Exotic is not being interviewed for the after show, but he’ll likely be the subject of a lot of conversation!

Tiger King and I will be released on Netflix on April 12.

The 55-year-old Joe Dirt actor made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday (April 9), filmed at home amid the ongoing global health crisis.

After dialing in from home, David shared how he’s handling quarantine, and revealed he’s running out of things to do, including alphabetizing his colognes.

They then discussed Tiger King and how the series’ breakout star Joe Exotic suggested David or Brad Pitt play him in a potential movie. And now, David is reacting!

“I thought it’s just a funny idea…it’s more fun to think of who the casting would be,” he said.

Joe Exotic said me or Brad Pitt, and uh, I think which way it’s gonna head. I see Brad at auditions all the time…you know what Brad does? He brings his Oscar to auditions now,” he joked.

“But I think Joe is a little too squirrely for Brad. That might be wishful thinking, Brad is so studly.”

This 'Tiger King' Star Wants Zac Efron to Play Him in Potential Movie

The stars of Tiger King are ready for their story to be made into a movie!

During an interview with People, Joe Exotic‘s third and current husband Dillon Passage revealed that he wants Zac Efron to play him in an potential movie.

When asked why he would want Zac to play him, Dillon, 22, said it’s because the 32-year-old actor has “blue eyes, dark hair” and is “good-looking.”

Dillon married Joe back in 2017. Joe is serving a 22-year prison sentence for hiring a hitman to kill Carole Baskin.

President Trump Addresses Possibly Pardoning 'Tiger King' Star Joe Exotic

Tiger King has taken over the White House.

During a health update briefing on Wednesday (April 8), President Donald Trump was asked he if he’s seen the Netflix doc and if he would consider pardoning star Joe Exotic.

Joe is currently serving a 22-year prison sentence after he has found guilty of hiring a hitman to kill a rival animal rights activist Carole Baskin.

“I know nothing about it,” Trump said during the briefing. “He has 22 years for what? What did he do?”

The New York Post reporter Steven Nelson explained that Joe claims he was wrongfully accused of hiring a hitman to kill Carole.

“Do you think he didn’t do it?” Trump said back. “Are you on his side? Are you recommending a pardon? As a reporter, you’re not allowed to do that. You’d be criticized by these — would you recommend a pardon?”

Trump directed the last question to CNN’s Jim Acosta, who said, “I’m not commenting on Tiger King.”

In the end, Trump said he would “take a look” into Joe‘s case.
