Joaquin Phoenix suits up while attending the 2020 EE British Academy Film Awards Nominees Party on Saturday (February 1) at Kensington Palace in London, England.

Taron Egerton was at the event alongside his longtime girlfriend Emily Thomas. They are both nominated for Best Actor for their work in Joker and Rocketman, respectively.

Also in attendance at the event were Joaquin‘s Joker co-stars Zazie Beetz (with boyfriend David Rysdahl) and Robert De Niro, who is nominated for Best Picture for producing The Irishman.

More stars at the party included The Two Popes‘ Best Actor nominee Jonathan Pryce, 1917‘s Dean-Charles Chapman and George Mackay, plus Andy Serkis and Aisling Bea.

Taron‘s Rocketman director Dexter Fletcher, who is nominated for Best British Film, was there to represent the film with him.

Taron Egerton and Rami Malek both step out for the 2020 Lincoln Center American Songbook Gala on Wednesday night (Janaury 29) at the Broadway Theatre in New York City.

The two Golden Globes winners looked handsome in suits as they attended the event honoring Chairman of NBCUniversal Cable Bonnie Hammer.

Other stars in attendance included Daniel Craig, Andy Cohen, Jimmy Fallon, Chelsea Clinton, Anna Wintour and daughter Bee Shaffer, Colin Jost, businessman Bruce Bozzi, and designer Diane Von Furstenberg.

Joaquin Phoenix honors his “favorite actor” Heath Ledger after his win at the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards!

The 45-year-old Joker star – who won Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role – gave a special shout-out to the late Dark Knight actor on Sunday (January 19) at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

“I’m standing here on the shoulders of my favorite actor, Heath Ledger,” Joaquin said. They both played the Joker!

Joaquin beat out Christian Bale (Ford v Ferrari), Leonardo DiCaprio (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), Adam Driver (Marriage Story), and Taron Egerton (Rocketman), and he also made sure to pay tribute to them during his speech.

“When I started acting again…going to auditions, I always got the final callback,” Joaquin said. “Many people know what that’s like. There would be, like, two other guys I was up against. We would always lose to this one kid. No actor would ever say his name because it was like too much. But every casting director would say it’s Leonardo. Who is this Leonardo? You know? You’ve been an inspiration for over 25 years to me and so many people. I thank you very very, very much.”

He then asked Christian to “suck just once” during his career: “You commit to your roles in ways that I can only dream of. You never turn in a bad performance. It’s infuriating. I wish you would. One time. Just suck once. It would be great.”

To Adam, Joaquin said, “I’ve been watching you the last few years and you’ve just been turning in these beautiful nuanced, incredible, profound performances, and I’m just moved by you, and you were devastating in this film. And you should be here.”

Finally, to Taron, he remarked, “You’re so beautiful in this movie. And I’m so happy for you. And I can’t wait to see what else you do.”

The 30-year-old Rocketman actor stepped out for the event held on Sunday (January 19) at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

Taron Egerton is presenting tonight, and he is nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for his work in Rocketman as Elton John.

Taron seemed to be good spirits despite the news that he was not nominated for Best Actor for his portrayal of Elton John in Rocketman at the 2020 Oscars. Taron won the Golden Globe for his work in Rocketman.

Taron Egerton exits the BBC studios in London on Friday afternoon (January 10).

The 30-year-old actor opened up in a new interview about not hugging Elton John after winning a Golden Globe award for playing the iconic singer in Rocketman.

“I do regret that,” he said. “I left Elton John hanging when I was winning an award for playing Elton John. But you know what, you aren’t in your right mind in that moment.”

“I haven’t had a great deal of practice at winning awards. I didn’t nail it but it was a great moment regardless.”

Taron added that he was forgiven by Elton: “Yes, he was fine. The rest of the award show we were holding hands beneath the table.”

Taron Egerton takes home the award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for Rocketman at the 2020 Golden Globe Awards!

The 30-year-old actor was honored at the event held on Sunday (January 5) at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

He won for his portrayal of Elton John, beating out Daniel Craig (Knives Out), Roman Griffin Davis (Jojo Rabbit), Leonardo DiCaprio (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), and Eddie Murphy (Dolemite Is My Name).

Taron called his fellow nominees “legitimate icons” and said that his role as Elton was the “best experience of my life.”

Taron also thanked director Dexter Fletcher, producer Matthew Vaughn, and Elton: “To Elton John, thank you for the music, thank you for living a life less ordinary, and thank you for being my friend.”

Finally, Taron gave a shout-out to his mom in the audience, saying, “This one’s for you ma’am.”
