Sarah Michelle Gellar is opening up about her 8-year-old son Rocky.

The Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress spoke to TODAY about how she learned about his vision issue in a new interview.

“I really chalked it up to screen fatigue because my kids didn’t have a lot of access to devices (before the coronavirus quarantine). All of a sudden they’re thrown into this world where they’re on Zoom for school and the only way they can connect with their friends afterwards is to continue on these devices. It was not something my kids were used to,” she said.

She noticed he would blink heavily while trying to focus on the screen in front of him. But, as time progressed, she got more concerned.

“They said not only did he have myopia — the common term is nearsightedness — but it was progressing extremely rapidly.”

She spoke out as part of her work promoting CooperVision, an eyewear company that makes contacts that are safe for kids and have been proven to slow the progression of myopia in kids ages 8-12. She says Rocky is excited to try the contact lenses, as he’s resisted wearing glasses and is worried about how glasses will effect his ability to play sports.

The 43-year-old actress took to her Instagram on Tuesday (September 1) to celebrate her 18th wedding anniversary with the 44-year-old actor.

“You… are my favorite husband #happyanniversary,” Sarah wrote along with a few photos from their wedding.

Sarah and Freddie first started dating over 20 years ago after meeting through mutual friends. After two years of dating, they got married in 2002.

Sarah and Freddie are parents to two kids – daughter Charlotte, 10, and son Rocky, 8.

Back in August, Freddie stepped out wearing a face mask that you’ve gotta see to believe!

The -year-old actress shared her new tip of the day, which focused on a setting a good example for your kids, all while wearing pajamas featuring her husband, Freddie Prinze, Jr‘s, face on them.

“SMG tip of the day: Wearing daytime pajamas and then changing into nighttime pajamas sets a good example for your children,” she shared in the video.

She added, “You know, for when they go into the business world.”

Earlier in the month, Sarah pulled out the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer prom dress she wore on the show.

Sarah Michelle Gellar is the latest celeb to switch up her hair color during quarantine.

The 43-year-old is following in the steps of Kristen Stewart, Hilary Duff and more in switching up their look during stay at home orders and waiting until hair salons open back up.

“Well, because we’re still in quarantine, I had to think of a new and creative way to embarrass my children,” Sarah shared about the change.

She added in the caption, “#quarancolor #roseallday (or until it fades out).”

Freddie Prinze, Jr. is sharing more about his and wife Sarah Michelle Gellar‘s love story.

In a recent interview with US Weekly, the 44-year-old actor revealed just how they first became friends from the set of I Know What You Did Last Summer.

“She didn’t have a driver’s license. She didn’t know how to drive. And we were shooting in Southport, North Carolina, which was an hour’s drive from the nearest Wilmington, which was the biggest city that was closest to us. It was an hour drive just to get to the gym. And when we transported the film down to South Park, she had no way to get up there,” Freddie explained. “So, I started driving her, and that’s when her and I became friends.”

He added, “We just would talk about life and stuff like that, and we had completely different philosophies on just about everything. ‘Cause she was a born and raised New Yorker and I was a born and raised L.A. kid, and we just looked at everything like night and day.”

Freddie continued on, saying that he wanted to keep being friends with Sarah because “I thought she was too skinny and I wanted to cook for her. Because that’s what my family does.”

“We started this weekly barbecue thing at her house, and me and my cousins would come over and cook food for her and her friends. And then we’d make sure everybody ate, and that was kind of how our friendship began.”
