Jesse Williams & Patrick J. Adams Get Into Uniform for 'Take Me Out' First Look

The Broadway revival of the play Take Me Out will premiere in April 2020 and the first look at Jesse Williams, Patrick J. Adams, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson in costume has been revealed.

The beloved play, written by Richard Greenberg, was originally produced on Broadway in 2003 with Daniel Sunjata and Denis O’Hare leading the cast.

Here is the synopsis: When Darren Lemming (Williams), the star center fielder for the Empires, comes out of the closet, the reception off the field reveals a barrage of long-held unspoken prejudices. Facing some hostile teammates and fraught friendships, Darren is forced to contend with the challenges of being a gay person of color within the confines of a classic American institution. As the Empires struggle to rally toward a championship season, the players and their fans begin to question tradition, their loyalties, and the price of victory.

Preview performances begin on April 2 ahead of an opening night on April 23. Tickets are on sale to the general public starting January 16.

Patrick J. Adams to Make Broadway Debut in Star-Studded 'Take Me Out' Revival

Patrick J. Adams is joining the cast of the upcoming Broadway revival of the play Take Me Out!

The 38-year-old actor, best known for his role as Mike Ross on the USA series Suits, will join a star-studded cast that already includes Jesse Williams and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.

Patrick will play Kippy Sunderstrom, the best friend of Williams‘ character Darren Lemming.

Here is the play’s synopsis: When Darren Lemming (Williams), the star center fielder for the Empires, comes out of the closet, the reception off the field reveals a barrage of long-held unspoken prejudices. Facing some hostile teammates and fraught friendships, Darren is forced to contend with the challenges of being a gay person of color within the confines of a classic American institution. The show will begin preview performances on April 2, 2020 ahead of an official opening night on April 23, 2020. The play will be performed at Second Stage’s Hayes Theater.

Celebrities React to Amazon Rainforest Fires - See Their Posts

Celebrities are speaking out about the fires taking place in Brazil’s Amazon rainforest.

The rainforest – which produces 20 percent of the oxygen in the Earth’s atmosphere and slows down global warming – is burning “at the highest rate since the country’s space research center … began tracking [the fires] in 2013,” CNN reports.

Ariana Grande posted three photos of the fires in her Instagram Stories, which included the caption, “If ur not from Brazil, and dont have no clue about what’s happening here, here it goes. The largest rainforest on the world is on fire, for the 16th day. And the media is not giving a f–k for this. #PrayForAmazonia.”

Demi Lovato shared two Instagram Story posts – a screenshot of Ariana‘s post and another that read, “The Amazon has been burning for 3 weeks, and I’m just finding out because of the lack of media coverage. This is one of the most important ecosystems on earth! Spread awareness!”

Kendall Jenner posted four photos in her Instagram Stories with the words, “Our lungs are burning.”

Noah Cyrus also reposted Ariana‘s post, while Jaden Smith shared an Instagram photo of the fire, captioning it, “The AMAZON Rain FOREST IS ON FIRE THIS IS TERRIBLE IT’S ONE OF THE BIGGEST CARBON SINKS IN THE WORLD, Spread The Word. #theamazonrainforest.”

When Does Patrick J. Adams Return to 'Suits' for Final Season?

The final season of Suits is about to premiere and fans are wondering when Patrick J. Adams will return!

The 37-year-old actor left the show at the end of season seven but recently revealed that he will be making a guest appearance to reprise his role as Mike Ross.

According to Deadline, Patrick will return in the season’s fifth episode.

During the episode “he gets involved in a case that puts him toe to toe with Harvey Specter and Samantha Wheeler.”

“I couldn’t be happier to be part of the final chapter of Suits. I’ve missed my TV family, and am looking forward to seeing what kind of trouble Mike Ross can stir up at the firm one last time,” Patrick previously said in a statement.

Suits premieres tonight (July 17) at 9 PM.

Patrick J. Adams Reveals How 'Suits' Will Address Meghan Markle's Absence When He Returns

Patrick J. Adams will be returning to Suits for the fifth episode in the upcoming ninth and final season, though his on-screen love interest Meghan Markle won’t be there.

The 37-year-old actor says that the show will address where Rachel Zane is during the episode.

“For Mike, this is just a trip to New York,” Patrick told Entertainment Tonight. “He’s in Seattle, [Mike and Rachel] are building their life together, it sounds like he’s doing well.”

“It seems to me like Mike’s in a great place. Whatever is happening in Seattle is really good,” Patrick said. “There’s phone calls with Rachel saying, ‘Goodbye, I love you,’ and, you know, I think there’s some obvious acknowledgment that she’s still there and a part of the show.”

Patrick says that Mike and Rachel are “good” as a couple. He said, “We’re happy. I promise you they’re happy.”

Jake McDorman and Joe Dempsie will star in The Right Stuff!

The 32-year-old Shameless actor and the 31-year-old Game of Thrones star have both signed on for the National Geographic scripted series inspired by Tom Wolfe’s bestselling nonfiction novel, Deadline reports.

Jake and Joe will portray two of the seven astronauts who made up the famous Mercury Seven. The remaining five will be played by SuitsPatrick J. Adams, Narcos: Mexico‘s Aaron Staton, Underground‘s Michael Trotter, Escape at Dannemora‘s Micah Stock, and Castle Rock‘s James Lafferty. Leonardo DiCaprio is an executive producer.

The Right Stuff focuses on “what would become America’s first reality show, as ambitious astronauts and their families become instant celebrities in a competition that either will kill them or make them immortal in the quest to be a part of Project Mercury.”

Jake McDorman plays Alan Shepard, “one of the best test pilots in Navy history, who is furiously competitive”; Joe Dempsie plays Lt. Gordon Cooper, “the youngest of the seven who was selected to everyone’s surprise”; Patrick J. Adams plays Maj. John Glenn, “a revered test pilot and committed family man with unwavering principles”; Aaron Staton plays Wally Schirra, “a competitive pilot with a gift for pulling pranks”; Michael Trotter plays Gus Grissom, “a no-nonsense test pilot who eventually becomes the second man in space”; Micah Stock plays Deke Slayton, “a taciturn but incredibly intelligent pilot and engineer”; and James Lafferty plays Scott Carpenter, “a soulful man who was dubbed ‘The Poet’ by the other astronauts.”

Production will kick off this fall in Cocoa Beach, Fla., for a 2020 global premiere on National Geographic.
