Johnny Depp looks completely mad as the Mad Hatter in the new trailer for Alice Though the Looking Glass revealed on Tuesday (March 29).

The 52-year-old actor joins his co-stars Mia Wasikowska, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway and Sacha Baron Cohen in the whimsical new clip.

New stills from the movie and character posters have also been released, giving an inside look into the movie set to hit theaters May 27.

Also pictured inside: Johnny leaving dinner with a friend on Thursday (March 24) in West Hollywood, Calif.

Disney debuted the new posters for Alice (Mia Wasikowska), The Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp), the White Queen (Anne Hathaway), Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter) and Time himself (Sacha Baron Cohen), a peculiar creature who is part human, part clock.

The new flick, an all-new spectacular adventure featuring the unforgettable characters from Lewis Carroll‘s beloved stories, Alice returns to the whimsical world of Underland and travels back in time to save the Mad Hatter.

Alice Through The Looking Glass opens in theaters on May 27th, 2016.

Disney just premiered the very first full-length trailer for Alice Through the Looking Glass, the sequel to Tim Burton‘s 2010 film Alice in Wonderland.

The film sees the return of Mia Wasikowska as Alice, Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Helena Bonhan Carter as the Red Queen, Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, and newcomer Sacha Baron Cohen as Time.

Here’s an official synopsis: Alice Kingsleigh (Wasikowska) has spent the past few years following in her father’s footsteps and sailing the high seas. Upon her return to London, she comes across a magical looking glass and returns to the fantastical realm of Underland and her friends the White Rabbit (Martin Sheen), Absolem (Alan Rickman), the Cheshire Cat (Stephen Fry) and the Mad Hatter (Depp), who is not himself. The Hatter has lost his Muchness, so Mirana (Hathaway) sends Alice on a quest to borrow the Chronosphere, a metallic globe inside the chamber of the Grand Clock which powers all time. Returning to the past, she comes across friends – and enemies – at different points in their lives, and embarks on a perilous race to save the Hatter before time runs out.

The Oscar-nominated actress was joined earlier in the day by her Crimson Peak co-stars Tom Hiddleston and Mia Wasikowska while promoting the film at AOL Build.

Jessica slipped on a black dress the night before while appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. During that appearance, she was asked about the comparisons between her and Bryce Dallas Howard. If you haven’t seen it yet, make sure to watch the musical parody!

One time in 2004, Jessica was on the subway in New York and a group of teenagers mistook her for Bryce. “Then they go, ‘Yes, The Village was such a great movie,’” she said. “I had this moment of do I tell them that they’re wrong and it’s not me, or do I pretend I’m Bryce. So I pretended I was Bryce.”

During her Today interview, Jessica admitted that she believes in ghosts.

“It’s more fun to believe in ghosts than to not believe in ghosts. So yes, I believe in ghosts! Sometimes the lights will turn on and off if I’m in London … and I always say, ‘Hey, OK, great, you’re here, I recognize you. I’m super tired, please let me sleep,’” Jessica said.
