The film is inspired by a true story and follows a woman’s decision to take control of her life and her health by committing to run in a marathon. Jillian says she lost 40 pounds in the process of making the movie!

Kevin Barnett, the co-creator of the Fox comedy series Rel, passed away suddenly at the age of 32 and now Lil Rel Howery is paying tribute to his friend.

The comedian died while on vacation in Mexico, though not many details are known at this time.

“I was trying to figure out what to say but I can’t I’m truly heartbroken by this and just really hurt as the hours pass… So gifted and so dope and a true friend!!!! I don’t know what else to say this is crazy to me!!!!” Lil Rel wrote on his Instagram account.

Sandra was joined by her co-stars Trevante Rhodes, Machine Gun Kelly, Vivien Lyra Blair, Julian Edwards, Danielle Macdonald, Lil Rel Howery, Rosa Salazar, Happy Anderson, BD Wong, and director Susanne Bier.

In the horror flick, a woman and a pair of children are blindfolded and make their way through a dystopian setting. Watch the new trailer here!

Bird Box will be available for streaming on Netflix on December 21, but fans who want to see the movie sooner can now watch it in select theaters in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and London.

Sandra‘s appearance at AFI Fest came shortly after it was announced that she’d donated $100,000 to the Humane Society of Ventura County, California (HSVC).

Netflix had actually canceled the red carpet portion for the movie’s premiere out of respect for the victims of the current California wildfires, though they proceeded with the screening.

The movie also stars Sarah Paulson, Trevante Rhodes, Jacki Weaver, Rosa Salazar, Danielle Macdonald, Lil Rel Howery, Tom Hollander, Colson Baker, BD Wong, and John Malkovich.

Here’s a synopsis of the film: When a mysterious force decimates the world’s population, only one thing is certain: if you see it, you take your life. Facing the unknown, Malorie finds love, hope and a new beginning only for it to unravel. Now she must flee with her two children down a treacherous river to the one place left that may offer sanctuary. But to survive, they’ll have to undertake the perilous two-day journey blindfolded.

Sandra and Sarah recently starred in Ocean’s 8 together.

The movie will debut on December 21.
