Lana Del Rey is spending her afternoon catching up with a friend.

The 35-year-old “Summertime Sadness” singer chatted with a friend after picking up coffee and a snack from Alfred’s Cafe on Tuesday afternoon (February 2) in Studio City, Calif.

Lana stayed comfy and cozy in an plaid, flannel jacket over a white T-shirt paired with jeans while staying safe in a face mask for her afternoon outing.

Last month, Lana came under fire over her comments about Trump‘s presidency and the riots at the Capitol. She later released a statement clarifying what she meant.

Lana Del Rey is defending herself.

The 35-year-old “Lust for Life” singer-songwriter issued a video statement on Tuesday (January 12) following a slew of headlines regarding her interview with BBC Radio 1, during which she addressed Donald Trump and the U.S. Capitol riot, suggesting that Trump is so deeply lacking in empathy, he might be unaware that he incited the rot.

During the video, she spoke about her opinion about Trump‘s lack of empathy, as well as her own upbringing, as well as misperceptions about her politics.

“I really don’t appreciate being painted as some white Republican who’s always been given everything and supports the incite of the Capitol riot. I grew up struggling, working my ass off, we had nothing, period,” she explained.

“I personally don’t get it. I just think sometimes because of the way I look, it’s easy to paint this picture, but man, did I struggle to become the genuine singer-songwriter I am,” she said.

“People do not last a long time in my workplace…it’s fun to tear people down, but it really discourages them from moving onto their next project,” she added.

“This is my story, I’m telling it…I’m the wrong person to come for when it comes to not being inclusive or liberal. Not that I ever focused on either one. I always just focused on the music, but if people want to make it political, I’m down, but listen to the entirety of the 40-minute interview. So…I don’t want to have to focus on this, but it is what it is. I’d love to get the point one day where we just talk about the music, but until that day, I want you to know my story.”

“Talk about it. Get it out of your system. And then GFYS,” she captioned the post. She also clarified her comments earlier in the day, calling out some outlets in particular.

Lana Del Rey is making her point clear.

The 35-year-old Born to Die superstar got candid on social media after a BBC Radio 1 interview, during which she addressed Trump and the pro-Trump riots at the Capitol building days ago.

During the chat, Lana described the attempted coup at the U.S. Capitol as “disassociated rage” and suggested that Trump didn’t knowingly incite the riot, a point which she later clarified on Twitter on Tuesday (January 12).

“Just to take a moment to say that what I was describing w the bbc was that Trump is so significantly impaired that he may not know what he was doing due to his significant lack of empathy and the wider ranging problem is the issue of sociopathy and narcissism in America,” she wrote.

“I’ll say it again I don’t appreciate the larger magazines taking my well-intentioned and believe it or not liberal comments out of context. It’s actually what I sing about quite often. It’s what I’ve been condemned for saying. You can listen to the entire interview,” she continued.

“I also want to say that I don’t appreciate complex magazine inferring that I thought it was right to storm the capital. After my long term relationship with them and exclusive interviews over the last 11 years I think it’s pathetic – if Rolling Stone chimes in-same goes for them,” she added.

In an interview promoting her new album, Chemtrails Over the Country Club, Lana expressed that she thinks Trump‘s presidency “needed to happen.”

She told BBC host Annie Mac, “The madness of Trump, as bad as it was, it really needed to happen. We really needed a reflection of our world’s greatest problem, which is not climate change, but sociopathy and narcissism.”

“Especially in America,” she added. “It’s going to kill the world.”

Lana also described the attempted coup at the U.S. Capitol as “disassociated rage” and suggested that Trump didn’t knowingly incite the riot.

“You know, he doesn’t know that he’s inciting a riot and I believe that,” she said. “They want to wile out somewhere. And it’s like, we don’t know how to find a way to be wild in our world. And at the same time, the world is so wild.”

Lana added, “I think people are having to re-evaluate what is strange and not strange. Watching the people storm the Capitol, everyone gets to go look at that and figure out what Capitols they’ve been storming this year in their own f-n’ lives. ‘Cause everyone’s running amok.”

Lana Del Rey just announced that she has new music on the way, but the one thing that people can’t seem to stop talking about right now is a comment she wrote on her Instagram page.

The 35-year-old singer took to social media on Sunday (January 10) to reveal that her album Chemtrails Over the Country Club is on the way.

A music video for the title track is expected to debut this week.

Lana Del Rey fractured her arm and is revealing how she did it.

“When you see my second video for this album, don’t think that the fact I’m wearing a cast is symbolic for anything other than thinking I was still a pro figure skater,” the 35-year-old singer announced on her Instagram account. “I wiped out on my beautiful skates before the video even began after a long day of figure eights and jumps in the twilight of the dezert.”

She added, “Anyways my fracture isn’t that bad kind of goes with my new bucket hat. Thanks to my beautiful family for my gifts.”
