Kirsten Dunst Explains When She & Fiance Jesse Plemons Will Get Married

Kirsten Dunst is featured in the latest issue of PorterEdit, out now.

Here’s what the 37-year-old actress had to say…

On choosing when she and Jesse Plemons will marry: “But we’re about as married as you can get. We have a kid together. My mom was like, ‘But when are you guys getting married?’ And I said, ‘Mom, I’m not going to get married when I’m pregnant. I want to have fun and have a drink. I mean, we’re paying for this wedding. I’m paying for the bar! I want to enjoy it.’ [My mom is] kind of old school that way.”

On vanity and embracing her post-baby body: “The benefit of growing up with [celebrity] is that I have a very healthy perspective of being an actress. I haven’t worked out once since I had my baby. I’m not one of those people who says [affects a funny voice], ‘Ohhh, I have to get my abs back’. I feel like I’ve established myself as an actress. I have a healthy amount of vanity that hasn’t tipped into something really destructive. I want to find parts where I don’t have to be that person, and I have plenty of role models. Look at Patricia Arquette.”

On trusting her gut when meeting her now-fiancé on the set of Fargo: “(I) knew he was going to be a soulmate. He’s my favorite actor; the best I’ve ever worked with. I just knew he would be in my life forever. I didn’t know what capacity that would be at the time. When the show was over, I just missed him terribly. We didn’t get together until a year later. We were both smart enough that we were wondering if the connection was just because we were working together. But it was real.”

Kirsten Dunst Joins 'On Becoming a God' Cast at L.A Premiere!

Kirsten Dunst walks the carpet at the premiere of her new Showtime series On Becoming a A God in Central Florida on Tuesday night (August 20) at the London Hotel in West Hollywood, Calif.

The 37-year-old actress was joined at the event by her co-stars Beth Ditto, Mel Rodriguez, Usman Ally, Julie Benz, Melissa De Sousa, Sharon Lawrence, and Josh Fadem.

Kirsten opened up at the premiere about the eclectic costumes she wears in the series.

“The worse it got, the better it was,” she told Variety. “I’d just take [the braces] off, and there would be a line of saliva coming off. They’re kind of nauseating to wear, so I was just grossing everyone out.”

The first season of On Becoming a God in Central Florida premieres this Sunday on Showtime, but you can watch the first two episodes now.

FYI: Kirsten is wearing a The Vampire’s Wife dress.

Kirsten Dunst Couldn't Hold Her Son on Sundays - Here's Why

Kirsten Dunst is starring in the new Showtime series On Becoming a God in Central Florida and she wasn’t able to hold her son Ennis on Sundays while filming the show.

Why? Because she got a spray tan each Sunday for the role and it started to rub off on her baby!

“I had a spray tan every Sunday for this role,” Kirsten said during an interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this week. “I remember Monday morning my mother-in-law is texting me. She’s like, ‘I think Ennis has a little bit of brown, reddish hair coming in right here!’ I was like, ‘Lisa, that’s my spray tan!’”

“So, on Sundays I couldn’t hold my kid,” she added. “I would postpone it to the latest possible minute so that I could hold my baby before he went to bed or before I put him to bed. I couldn’t put him to bed on Sunday nights because I would just get spray tan all over him!”

“I had my mother-in-law and family and friends would come visit,” Kirsten said. “So I always had people around me. It wasn’t so bad. It actually was a little bit of a break from cleaning bottles and things like that.”

Kirsten is engaged to her former Fargo co-star Jesse Plemons.

She was also joined by her co-stars Mel Rodriguez, Beth Ditto and Theodore Pellerin, as well as co-creator Matt Lutsky and executive producers Esta Spalding and Robert Funke.

The dark comedy is set in Orlando in the early 1990s. It follows a minimum-wage-earning water park employee who will eventually scheme her way to the top of Founders American Merchandise, a cultish pyramid scheme that drives her family to ruin.

“These kinds of schemes are all about people being asked to monetize their relationship. What’s heartbreaking is not only the debt and the loss…The losses become familial as well…Everyone on this show wants something more in their life but there is no way they could do that making minimum wage in 1992. People are trying to be happy in their daily lives and being preyed upon,” Esta said during the panel.
