True Blood is being rebooted at HBO!

Sources are telling Variety that Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Jami O’Brien will write the script and executive produce and the original show’s creator Alan Ball will executive produce.

The show debuted on HBO in 2008 and starred Anna Paquin, Alexander Skarsgard, Joe Manganiello, Stephen Moyer, Sam Trammell, Ryan Kwanten, and Rutina Wesley. Unfortunately, at this time, none of the original cast is set to return at this time. We hope that changes!

The show ran for seven seasons on HBO. So far, there has been no official word from HBO about this news, but stay tuned as we find out more.

This news has unfortunately reminded us of the tragic death of one of the stars of True Blood, Nelsan Ellis. RIP.

Joe Manganiello is opening up about what wife Sofia Vergara really thinks of his electric blue mohawk he’s been sporting over quarantine.

Speaking with ET, the 43-year-old actor shared that Sofia “married an actor, so she had to think the weirdness would come out at some point.”

Joe also admitted that the mohawk was for a film role, but the hair color was all his idea.

“I had my hair in a white mohawk for a role and I’m getting ready to shave it tomorrow morning completely off for another role,” Joe shared, hinting at his upcoming appearance in Zack Snyder‘s Justice League “Snyder Cut”. So I had a, like a two or three-week span where I could do whatever I wanted with it,” he said. “So I just dyed my mohawk blue!”

He added about being part of the Snyder Cut: “It was my opportunity to put my stink on the character, you know? I had my own opinions about the character and once they hand it over to the actor, it becomes the actor’s, and you get to do what you want with it.”

“When Zack called me and said he wanted me to come back, I said, ‘Well, I’ve got a couple ideas about things I want to do,’ and Zack was really excited about them all, including, you know, the change to a more warlike Deathstroke,” Joe shared.

Deathstroke was rumored to have a bigger role in the Snyder Cut earlier this year, and now the limited event will have a lot of new footage. Find out just how much here!

Joe Manganiello looks even more different than he did a few weeks ago.

If you didn’t see, fans were taken aback as the 43-year-old actor debuted a bleached blond mohawk while joining wife Sofia Vergara for a mini reunion with her Modern Family co-stars.

Now, Joe has changed that blond color into blue!

“Time to go to work…” Joe captioned the shot, with him in a gym and sporting the bright hue on his head.

The new hair color could play a part in Joe reprising his role as Deathstroke aka Slade Wilson in the Justice League Snyder Cut.

Joe‘s debut in the big screen film saw him on Lex Luthor’s luxury yacht.

On Friday night (October 23), the 43-year-old actor and wife Sofia Vergara reunited with her Modern Family co-stars Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Sarah Hyland, and Julie Bowen to celebrate Jesse‘s 45th birthday.

Jesse then took to Instagram to share a few photos from his birthday party – and Joe looks almost unrecognizable.

In the pics, Joe is showing off his new hairstyle – which is a bleached-blonde mohawk.

“Celebrating my 45th with some of my favorite people,” Jesse captioned the post. “@itsjuliebowen knit Beckett a hat that I’m going to wear until he can fit into it and @sofiavergara gave me a beautiful gold candle that has a very unique shape. 🍆”

As of right now, it’s unclear if Joe changed up his hair for a new role or just for fun.

During a recent interview, Joe revealed if he would return for a possible third Magic Mike movie.

Joe Manganiello will be back as Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke, in Zack Snyder‘s upcoming Justice League mini-series on HBO Max.

The Wrap reports that the role is being fleshed out by Zack for the series, according to an individual with knowledge of the project.

Joe‘s Deathstroke made his first appearance in the DC movie in 2017. In the full scene, the assassin is summoned to the luxury yacht of a returning Lex Luthor, played by Jesse Eisenberg.

The duo start to form an alliance of antiheroes to block the heroics of Wonder Woman, Batman, Aquaman, Cyborg, Superman and The Flash.

The Snyder Cut of Justice League will be presented as four, hour-long episodes.

Joe Manganiello is opening up about the possibility for more Magic Mike movies and what his involvement would be.

The 43-year-old actor, who played Big Dick Richie in both films, shared in a new interview with People, rather bluntly that he’s “retired.”

However, Joe did open up about his tight friendship with co-star Matt Bomer, who he starred with in the second movie.

“We always talk,” Joe shared. “I got so much from going to the drama school that I went to in terms of learning and technique, but one of the great things that I got is all of the friends I have that work in the business. And one of the great things is the friendship that I have with Matt.”

He added, “Matt and I always stay in touch, and talk and catch up, and grab lunch.”
