President Biden Unfollows Chrissy Teigen on Twitter at Her Request

President Joe Biden‘s official Twitter account officially unfollowed Chrissy Teigen, and it’s because Chrissy asked him to.

If you don’t know, Chrissy was blocked by former President Donald Trump. After the inauguration, President Biden unblocked Chrissy and then actually followed her.

Chrissy then posted on Twitter that she’d like to be unfollowed because she wants to be free to post whatever she wants and not have a sitting President follow her.

If you missed it, find out the tweet that caused Trump to block Chrissy.

President Biden Holds Candlelight Vigil at White House to Mourn the 500,000 American Lives Lost to COVID-19

President Biden is marking a grim moment in the fight against COVID-19.

The President of the United States spoke to the nation from the White House on Monday (February 22) after it was confirmed that 500,000 Americans have now passed away because of the virus.

After speaking to the nation, Biden was joined by First Lady Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff for a candlelight vigil outside of the White House.

“We must end the politics and misinformation that’s divided families, communities and the country,” Biden said during his speech. “It’s cost too many lives already. It’s not Democrats and Republicans who are dying from the virus. It’s our fellow Americans. It’s our neighbors, our friends, our mothers, our fathers, our sons, our daughters, husbands, wives. We have to fight this together as one people, as the United States of America. That’s the only way we’re going to beat this virus, I promise you.”

Biden opened up about the tragedies he’s suffered while comforting those who have lost loved ones to the virus.

“For the loved ones left behind: I know all too well. I know what it’s like to not be there when it happens. I know what it’s like when you are there holding their hands, there’s a look in their eye and they slip away,” he said. For those that don’t know, Biden’s first wife and infant daughter died in a car crash and his son Beau died in 2015 after a battle with brain cancer.

Trump‘s argument was that the China-based app presented security risks, and attempted to force a sale of the app to American-based companies Oracle and Walmart.

The Wall Street Journal reported that attempted sale was now “shelved indefinitely” because of Biden administration’s decision.

The Associated Press and NPR also separately reported the Justice Department is now signaling to federal courts it may drop its legal cases against ByteDance, the Chinese company that owns TikTok.

One TiKTok star recently made headlines for confusing a popular hashtag to be about her.

President Biden Will Have Sign Language Interpreters During Press Briefings After Trump Refused

President Biden is implementing something that will help the hard of hearing and deaf for the first time.

The White House will include an American Sign Language interpreter at all briefings, Press Secretary Jen Psaki revealed on Monday (January 25).

“As a part of this administration’s accessibility and inclusion efforts, starting today we will have an ASL, an American Sign Language interpreter, for our daily press briefings,” she explained.

“The president is committed to building an America that is more inclusive, more just and more accessible for every American, including Americans with disabilities and their families.”

An ASL interpreter named Heather joined Monday’s virtual briefing.

The interpreters will be seen in-frame moving forward with briefings.

The National Association for the Deaf sued the Trump administration over its refusal to provide ASL interpreters for any COVID-19-related press briefings. There are approximately 11.5 million people with hearing disabilities in the United States.

The Trump White House did not comply with requests from lawmakers, a federal disability agency and the nation’s oldest civil rights organization asking for ASL interpreters. A court eventually ordered the White House to provide ASL interpreters at all COVID-19 briefings.

“There is more work to be done, but this is a great day for inclusion and access for the deaf and hard of hearing community,” the NAD said in a statement.

It was recently revealed what Melania Trump intended to do with a controversial jacket.
